A reminder that once Julian Assange was free, he immediately spoke about the horrors of the Gaza genocide: ‘Artificial intelligence is being used for mass assassinations in Gaza.’ “The majority of targets in Gaza are bombed as a result of artificial intelligence targeting.”
‘Wikileaks gave us COLOUR to the black and white understanding of the US empire’s war crimes abroad. Julian Assange is the best example of how you DON’T STOP.’ —Matthew Hoh, former State Department & Defense Department official, ahead of the 20th Anniversary of the founding of Wikileaks. ‘The first time we met, I was in London on a visit to visit Julian when he was in the Ecuadorian embassy. In these years we’ve seen this great shift in our technology, this ability to access information to see things from a firsthand perspective, of course, the genocide in Gaza, the best example of that. We’ve seen the success of what Julian Assange built with WikiLeaks in the sense of bringing some accountability. Maybe we understood things in Iraq, but WikiLeaks gave us color to that black and white understanding that we had in Iraq and in so many other places where the American Empire was carrying out its war crimes, and this idea of an accountability that was able to surface from that. And we have seen the backlash to that, whether it’s been the surveillance, whether it’s been the government censorship. Afshin, I mean, there’s no one better to talk to about government censorship than you and your folks on this program here, right? But then also too, we saw the culmination of that backlash against information, against letting people know what their governments were doing in these last three years, as we’ve seen the Israelis and the Americans murder over 250 journalists in Gaza. So I think what it means to me is we don’t ever stop, right? That no matter what success we have, we don’t stop. Whatever setback we have, we don’t stop. And I think Julian, of course, with what he’s done, his work, but also too his personal trials, the prosecution and the persecution he endured for years by the British state, by the American state, I think he is the best example of how you don’t ever stop.’ Watch the full interview in the quoted post below 👇 @MatthewPHoh @wikileaks @JulianAssange

Palestinians have been fired at by Israeli soldiers and settlers while trying to begin the olive harvest in the occupied West Bank. Farmers and activists arrived to the annual harvest in the town of Beita and were met with tear gas and moved away from the groves. According to the UN, nearly 2,000 Palestinians have been injured and more than 80 killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since the beginning of this year. Israel’s army said it had sent soldiers to the area to disperse a ‘confrontation’ and that no one was injured. Olive season is typically a time of high tension between Palestinian farmers and Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. #Channel4News #News #WestBank #Palestinians #Israel

The corporate media is broken. We are at conference, and it hasn't dominated the discussion at all. If anything, housing/rent control is one of the biggest take aways.
"The Green Party conference is set to be dominated by Corbyn-era motions around Gaza, Zionism, Palestine. "These are dividing this party and risks, on some level, tearing it apart." Have the Greens got lost in 'fractious' politics? thenewsagents.co.uk/article/…

TIME Magazine has released the full, unedited transcript of its interview with Trump alongside its cover story I put in the comments. I had to take several breaks to get through it, it's bad, really bad, because it's our President. If you've ever visited a loved one in a Memory Care facility you'd know the residents can give hours long dissertations without saying anything of substance, long strings of filterless free association that could lead anywhere. While Trump has always been a narcissist and a con man, he was also an effective communicator, you can't pull a successful con without that skill. What we see in this interview seems to be truly disturbing and we need to face it together as a nation and do something about it. Please take the time to read. time.com/article/2026/10/01/…

Ben Gvir l'a raconté lui-même.

Whatever happens: @ZackPolanski will be the leader. If anyone wants to challenge him: bring it on. It will be another Jeremy Corbyn vs Owen Smith situation. And Zack will win.
EXCL: Zack Polanski has insisted his authority as leader of the Green party does not depend on winning next week’s Holborn and St Pancras byelection, amid suggestions the party’s popularity has peaked. "It doesn’t depend on it whatsoever," he tells @alethaadu, adding that the election has ramifications for politics nationally but “not for my leadership”. “I think the seat is winnable, and I think it’s probably 50-50 right now. It’s really, really on a knife edge.” But senior Green figures privately fear defeat could severely damage his leadership. There are concerns the party’s rapid rise in membership and polling hasn’t translated into strong campaigning on the ground. theguardian.com/politics/202…

“No Jewish person in NYC is responsible for Israel” is demonstrably false. New York Jewish institutions and individuals raise hundreds of millions for Israel, lobby politicians on its behalf, and organize political support for it. Accountability for what people actually fund and advocate for isn’t collective blame.
Zohran Mamdani: One of the things that I'm proud of is that we live in the most Jewish city in the United States of America. No Jewish person in New York City is responsible for the actions of the state of Israel. If you want to hold anybody accountable, it's the people who are making those decisions — the prime minister, the state of Israel, also our complicity as American taxpayers, given that we know how many billions of dollars we have sent in bombs and continue to send.

This is way dumber than MbS' dumb 2015 plan to "take Yemen in a week." There's a higher chance of Ansarallah invading Riyadh than of this plan working.
BREAKING: Saudi Arabia plans 100,000-troop Yemen offensive to retake the Bab el-Mandeb from Yemen's Houthis, without any US support and all troops under Saudi command, supported by Saudi air strikes and expected to launch in the coming weeks, per Reuters. Crown Prince MBS is weighing a narrow push along the coast around Bab el-Mandeb or a broader offensive on multiple fronts, with synchronized attacks in Al-Bayda, Marib, Taiz and Al-Jawf. The US and Saudi Arabia's other allies are not expected to take any part in combat operations, after Trump refused MBS's requests for US strikes and then called off strikes with bombs already loaded on US warplanes two weeks ago.

🇷🇺 Russia’s Center-2026 drills are wrapping up, and there was a lot happening at once. Drones dropping fire. Rockets going up. Ground robots moving with troops. Soldiers tearing through mock villages on bikes and ATVs. More than 47,000 personnel from Russia and other CSTO countries took part, training for border conflicts and joint operations, with a big emphasis on drones, robotics and electronic warfare. The fire-dropping drones were easily the wildest visual. They’re also a pretty good reminder of how fast the drone side of warfare is changing. Writers: Daniyal, Oliver

Yes Biden was always about to break from Netanyahu but mysteriously never did because this narrative is a total fiction. All the disputes were squarely within the framework of lockstep support & we know this because the Israeli Amb later confirmed Biden never demanded a ceasefire
The day that Biden grew so angry at Netanyahu that he nearly cut him off: "He was just completely fed up with everything and I think at that moment he was ready to just say, 'I’m done,'" @brett_mcgurk recalls as he releases "Brink," his memoir of Gaza war. nytimes.com/2026/10/01/us/po…
