While you're struggling to pay your own bills, Maryland's Attorney General just decided you should pay everyone else's too. AG Anthony Brown sued to block the federal public charge rule. The rule is simple: if you want a green card, don’t rely on public safety nets like Medicaid, food stamps, and housing aid to get by. Brown thinks Maryland taxpayers should foot the bill anyway. You're already paying record taxes and the highest utility bills in the country. And Annapolis still wants more of your hard-earned money to fund benefits for non-citizens. Maryland families are not a charity fund for non-citizens. Our Attorney General should be working for Maryland taxpayers, not against them. Remember that at the ballot box. After waiting a few hours for the actual executive order he spent 20 minutes bragging about on television, the truth was revealed: His order does nothing to stop or slow data center construction. In fact, it greenlights favored projects willing to withstand his new task force's determination process. Our statement:

Annapolis Democrats called suspending the gas tax a "gimmick." Everyday Marylanders are drowning in electricity bills, skyrocketing gas prices, car registration fees, and property taxes that never seem to stop climbing. And what does this majority do? They pile on more. $2 billion in new taxes and fees. The highest utility bills in the entire country. So here's the real question: how much more are you willing to pay before you say enough? 'We've had an increase of 300 new taxes and fees totaling $3 million and we still have the largest deficit in the state's history,' Nawrocki said. CNBC recently ranked Maryland’s economy as the second worst in the country and Moody’s recently downgraded the state’s bond rating. On social media, state Del. Matt Morgan wrote: 'Wes Moore has balanced nothing.
