So far today... 1) Meta revealed plans to roll out stablecoins payments across Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram (that's 3 billion users); 2) Coinbase turned on stock trading -- 24/5, zero commissions; 3) Kraken rolled out 24/7 perps trading on tokenized stocks; Eight months ago the SEC said "let there be superapps" and the market is responding.

Meanwhile, morale for industry natives has never been lower and more depressing. Tale of two worlds.

this will only accelerate from here...
Institutions might own more than 50% of Bitcoin supply by 2035. Most reactions to this are about price or decentralization. But beyond that, I see regulated infrastructure as the only path forward for Bitcoin. Products built around retail Bitcoin participation (both onchain and off-chain) will have a smaller and smaller customer base. Hard truth, but that's where the math points. Majority of the capital in Bitcoin will be institutional, and they need an infrastructure layer built around Bitcoin to move at scale. Custody, credit markets, insurance, financial products that boards and compliance teams can sign off on. Gold didn't become a reserve asset because people just bought it. The financial infrastructure was built around Gold first, which attracted institutional capital. Bitcoin is at that stage now.

Meanwhile, Coinbase and Kraken expanding stock + perps access shows retail is getting almost constant market exposure. The SEC signaling support for superapps is clearly shifting the landscape.

Big updates for sure. But adoption takes time, headlines don’t equal instant impact.

The perps-on-tokenized-stocks thing is wild — you can now short Apple at 3am on Sunday using leverage that technically doesn't exist in TradFi. Regulators about to discover what 'unintended consequences' means.

Meta having a stablecoin for 3 billion people is going to be a massive headache for traditional banks.

The SEC practically begged for this, and most people still didn't see it coming.

When platforms, exchanges, and rails converge, the superapp era stops being a thesis and starts becoming infrastructure.

Regulatory space created room for this. What we’re seeing now is products compressing into fewer surfaces with continuous settlement underneath.

Folks are about to get stablecoin wallets tucked inside their dopamine delivery systems. The old banking system is trying to prevent the leakage with bear market re-engineering and fear spikes? That's the History Channel. Clever tricks, but not changing the outcome.
