6/ Jeff Yan's April 2023 "next FTX" thread is recirculating. His allegations concerned order priority and internal B-booking, not wallet security. This incident does not prove those allegations, or insolvency. The test now is whether Bitget's operational claims become independently checkable facts.

5/ Language. Bitget's initial notice promised hourly updates and a full incident report within 24 hours. Compare each notice with the last: scope of affected wallets, estimated loss, cause, fund coverage and withdrawal timing. A change is not proof of anything by itself; an unexplained change deserves a question.

4/ Reserves. Bitget says cold wallets are secure and customer balances are accurate. I would want current wallet balances, liabilities and a reconciled post-incident proof of reserves. A pre-incident snapshot cannot answer what changed overnight.

3/ Protection fund. Bitget says its fund holds more than $464m and covers the full loss. The question is what the fund holds now, where it sits, and when and how it can be used. Coverage in a notice is not the same thing as available liquidity.

2/ Withdrawals. Bitget has not given a reopening time. Its CEO says restoration work is under way, but will not commit to a window she cannot guarantee. Watch for a dated plan, then actual successful withdrawals, rather than another assurance.

1/ Bitget says it detected unauthorised transfers from hot wallets at 18:31 UTC on 24 September. Estimated amount affected: $351.6m. Withdrawals are suspended; deposits and trading remain open. I was an FTX creditor myself. I've since bought over 6,000 FTX claims. Here is what I would watch over the next 48 hours.
