You use fuel prices and Middle East tensions as excuses, but the root of France’s unrest lies in open immigration policies, failure to confront extremism, and alliances between Islamist elements and rootless leftists that have eroded the country’s social cohesion for years. This reality cannot be hidden by pointing to someone else’s war. If you occasionally looked at France with a realistic eye, you might not need such justifications. Apparently, this situation does not trouble you much—after all, it is “an internal matter” and concerns no one else. We also call on both sides to remain calm.
