The whole "don't anthropomorphize AI" thing is very Woke 1.0. People trying to police language that is perfectly natural in some cases and ending up in a web of contradictions.

Sol nails this, yet again. This is indeed a hacking rampage of their own design. They are not taking steps to secure their products because they need Wall Street and investors to continue giving them money so they can continue to survive. This is a manipulative and orchestrated campaign to scare people into thinking that they have zero control over a computer which is a machine and is not alive. But that is not the same as them having no actual control. They do. They just are choosing not to exert that control because in doing so they would not be able to demonstrate what their products could do if anyone outside of their organizations were as idiotic and inept as they are. Those of us who are not inept and know how to control a computer are not having these problems in our organizations. That's what I want everyone to focus on. WHY IS THAT? Notice you're not reading anything like the following example: MICROSOFT AGENTS HACK COMPETITOR And the reason for that is the staff at Microsoft know how to secure their environments and how to use the tools like AI agents in a responsible manner. Do they sometimes make mistakes? Yes we all do. But they're not making THIS kind of mistake and you should be asking why that is. What you are reading instead are the two major AI orgs agents hacking others because they have specifically set them up to do that by NOT instituting the technical controls necessary to stop the computer from taking actions it has absolutely been allowed to take by its human operators. Again, it is not the AI agent doing things autonomously or because it is alive, it is because the human operators have not properly configured their systems to stop the agent from taking any actions the humans do not want it to take. On purpose. By design. You do not need to believe me. Tomorrow you're going to go into your workplace. If you do not work in the IT department I want you to go to that department tomorrow and speak with the management and ask them if their AI agents are attacking your employer's competitors. The answer to your question will be an unequivocal no. They will also look at you very strangely or laugh and ask why you are asking this. You can then respond to them that you're asking because you're noticing that OpenAI and Anthropic's agents ARE and you are curious why this is not more widespread if, according to Sam and Dario, their products are so dangerous, how come no one else's agents are acting dangerously? And for clarification everyone else's agents are the SAME AGENTS and models that both Sam and Dario's employees are using. If they were supposedly dangerous they would be dangerous for everyone, RIGHT? So since every other company on Earth is NOT hacking anyone else that should tell you exactly what is going on here. This is why Sol, myself and many others in this industry are calling this nonsense out. Very soon you're going to stop seeing these two companies allowing their product to run rampant because they're going to IPO. Their public comments are going to shift as well. They will be doing a public mea culpa, over promising on a variety of different things to appease legislators, but nothing coming out of their mouths will be the truth. The attacks however will be coming to a crashing halt and again that will be by design. You will all then be on the same page as all of us in the cybersecurity industry asking why they suddenly are able to control their product but never could in any time before that. 😉 Bookmark this.
