This is true. Jerusalem is:
(a) a banger;
(b) completely bonkers;
(c) a socialist anthem;
(d) also a conservative agrarian lament strongly associated with the WI;
(e) not in England;
and by embracing all those contradictions, a window into the English soul.
NB: very hard to understand the Anglo mind without understanding the hymn "Jerusalem" - which was Blake's poem put to music during the Great War & sung all over the British Empire
