Genuine questions for French/Euro people: Are you guys just finished, or what? Is there a plan? They’re not going to assimilate, and the problem gets more difficult to solve with each passing day. They’re all from countries that would respond to what they’re doing with mass killing, and your humanitarian forbearance does not earn their respect, but their scorn.
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen.
I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn.

Something that has surprised me is how little understanding of Hinduism there appears to be in American media and popular culture. There is plenty of English language content, but a weird cultural gap. I think this lack of understanding contributes to the hatred and othering. This wasn't the case a few generations ago; Swami Vivekananda, hippie seekers etc made Hindu ideas more in vogue at the time.
I think a lot of Indian Americans (myself included) avoid discussing religion to avoid raising hackles and fit in. But maybe this is the wrong tack and just opens the door to hatred.
