Maidan is centrally located, having 1 existing metro lines, and 1 proposed HSR terminus. All 4 lines radiate from Maidan, because RRTS should ideally originate from the core of a city, to eliminate the hassle of interchange.

Big victory for people of Kolkata.
I thank Kolkata High Court and Hon Justice Sujoy Paul for passing an order in the Chingrighata case of WPA (P) 297 of 2025 Upamanyu Bhattacharya Vs State of West Bengal & Ors. State has been ordered to give traffic block in January for Orange Line Metro construction which will unironically solve the entire Chingrighata jam once the metro starts running from South Kolkata to Sector V, Salt Lake. More on the same after we get the order copy.
