It copied a method the Ottoman state had already used on a Christian people, only Palestinian Arabs had one morning and the Young Turks had years. Like on October 7, they killed the men in front of the houses. They raped the women and girls then slaughtered them or kidnapped them. They drove the rest into the desert on foot until thirst and knives finished what the soldiers started. Neighbors looted the empty rooms and then swore they had seen nothing. That is 1915, written down while it was still happening. What you watched on October 7 was the same choreography at a smaller scale. The Turks were the opening act for a century of Islamic massacres that followed it against Assyrians, against Greeks, and then against Jews in Hebron, Baghdad, and every border Islam could reach. The world spent a century inverting the script and denying events just as they’re doing now.

This mark is called zabiba ("raisin") because of its appearance. It’s a callus or bump that develops from the repeated friction of the skin against the floor or the prayer rug. It’s one of the biggest signs of extremism. Even in the Muslim world, it’s associated with terrorism. Be careful around those who have it.
