Because GB News isn't enough for Reform UK! £72m from Crypto billionaire donors - foreign financial influence and billionaires having disproportionate influence over British democracy- yeah nothing to see here 🙄 Now Reform wants its own media machine - journalists, digital, YouTube and Reform TV - the ability to directly manufacture and distribute political content at scale. Can't see @ofcom doing much to monitor the output...
Reform UK is hiring at least 12 journalists to build a "national publishing operation" including a digital newsroom and expanded video output via Reform TV on Youtube

And this is *exactly* why we need independent journalism, folks. And the only hope of that is if people pay for it. This is not news, it's propaganda.

Severe flash flooding hit Nova Lima, Brazil yesterday after powerful storms dumped torrential rain. Streets turned into raging torrents, trapping cars and buses in muddy floodwater. The problem isn't just more rain. It's how quickly huge amounts of water are now arriving, leaving cities with minutes to cope with what would once have been a far less extreme event.

As fun as this looks, they still having fixed the spooky wipers that I have to manually override. And the cameras see ghost markings and screech warnings of me driving off road when I’m in the centre of the lane. Fix those, not spend time on this

Malgrat de Mar, Barcelona in Spain this morning. This is what happens when we spend decades burning fossil fuels, pumping more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and heating the planet. More extreme heat. More violent rainfall. More devastating floods. More destructive storms. And this is only the beginning. We knew this was coming.

Looking rather wet on the Costa Brava this morning as stationary thunderstorms drop copious heavy rain, pity the holidaymakers there at the moment, this is Blanes - up the coast from Barcelona.

I keep seeing people showing interest in switching their diesel cars to electric. £2 per litre seems to be the breaking point for people, and having seen someone saying their 58-plate MINI Cooper D cost £106 to fill, it’s just a horrid situation for too many people. If you can charge at home, and you’re in the market to change your car, give an EV some consideration because it can significantly cut down on these ongoing fuel costs. People on here are all too happy to offer advice. But if EVs are not for you, that’s fine. I’m not dictating what people should do, just highlighting an alternative. It all boils down from getting from A to B for a lot of people, so why tolerate high fuel bills.

Hospital flooded in Spain. Yet our media still casually presents Net zero as a bigger problem than climate change, never holding our leading politicians to account for taking money from the fossil fuel industry.
Imatges del magatzem general de l'Hospital de Granollers, on aquesta matinada s'ha acumulat un metre i mig d'aigua. Les urgències també s'han inundat i les han traslladat al primer pis 3cat.cat/3catinfo/lultima-ho…

🤩 Scotland’s largest food export has backed Andy Burnham’s move towards Europe. Scottish salmon exports were worth a record £828m last year, with France accounting for 42% of their value. The industry wants fewer barriers, less paperwork and faster access to its largest regional market. On the very same day, the Conservative deputy leader promised to tear up Labour’s proposed SPS agreement and restore those barriers. That isn’t sovereignty. It is deliberate economic vandalism. Brexit has made Scottish exports harder and more expensive while strengthening the SNP’s argument that independence is Scotland’s only route back to Europe. @andyburnham can remove both threats: rebuild Britain’s European relationship, restore frictionless food trade and show Scotland that its European future can be secured within the United Kingdom.

Reform UK are proving that they are nothing more than a grievance party, political has-beens with chips on their shoulders seeking vindication. They care not about Britain, or its public, just their own egos and bank balances.
