As a Muslim apologist I have been gathering public intelligence on American Catholic Apostolates since at least 2020, I have been reading everything I could get my hand on Catholic Apologetics and thus I knew very early on that the resurgence of Catholicism was inevitable. For the past years my whole life revolved around my study of Catholicism. I've got to hand it to you guys: you had more determination than us Muslims for what initially looked like an uphill battle. We've became way too complacent, we've chronically underfunded our apologists, lost our resolve and imagined we had won like America in the 1990s after the cold war, except we hadn't won against Catholicism but only against Zombie Catholicism. I've tried to raise the alarm, to tell my community that we needed to wake up, that Catholics were stepping their up their game but to no avail, no one could imagine that Catholics were making a comeback. This new elite will soon crush both the Zionist lobby in the United States of America and Islamic spiritual hegemony in Western Europe. It's great news for our brothers and sisters in Palestine (as they only need the neutrality of the US) but a disaster for Muslims in the West! We had since the 1990s no serious religious competitors in Europe, we've enjoyed a kind of spiritual hegemony on the Old Continent, akin (in the religious realm) to the global uncontested hegemony America enjoyed for a decade after the Cold War. We had Da'wa on 'easy mode' (I am by no means disparaging the efforts of the brothers involved in Da'wa), contending against zombie Catholicism and thus winning a lot of converts to Islam who were nominal Christians, who were already de facto Unitarians in the first place. It was an anomaly. This era is now coming to an end. What no Muslim leader in the West seems to grasp is that the Zionist lobby was actually holding back the influence of American Trads around the world. When Traditional Catholics will finally gain the upper hand against the Zionists in the United States, their influence will be unrestrained and they will be able to project their soft power to the rest of the Western World and even to Muslim countries. I have been documenting this to my French audience since at least 2020, 'predicting' what's happening now as early as 2022. I have been following ever since the incredible rise of Catholic Answers (even though they are not Traditional Catholics but what I call 'Conservatives Novus Ordo' and some of their members are technically Zionists, they are still way too lukewarm in their support of Tel Aviv to the taste of the Zionist lobby, they are a gateway drug to Traditional Catholicism). They spend over 7 millions dollars in Apologetic every single year. I have been following ever since the development of a new missionary infrastructure in France geared toward the evangelization of Muslims, with a lot of funding (over 1 million € budget every year) while Muslims are investing less and less in Islamic Apologetic. I have been (legally) collecting (public) intelligence on Catholic organizations both in France and in the United States of America since at least 2020. In France alone, Catholics are spending at least 25 times more than us in Apologetic. I am not blaming Catholics, I actually have a lot of respect for them, they doing what their religion tell them to do (evangelization is an obligation according to Canon 781 of the Code of Canon Law of 1983). They are our most serious theological opponents. I don't blame them, I blame our Muslim elites. The recent development regarding the creation of an American Catholic mission to Muslims (especially in North Africa), the Tavelic Network, is something I tried to warn French Muslims about, but to no avail. This new generation of Catholic missionaries to Muslims won't be your average low-Church protestants like David Wood, they will be much more intellectuals. This organization, the Tavelic Network, was privately endorsed by Pope Francis back in August 2024 and they have a very robust strategy. They want to reshape the Christian discourse on Islam, as they have a clear disdain for the current liberal anti-Islam narrative of most Christians. They will be our biggest opponents tomorrow. Our community is in denial mode, we're way past the Golden age of Da'wa in Europe and America and no one seems to realize that. We've underfunded our Apologetic sector for years now and we will soon pay the price for that. It's now urgent that we work on a comprehensive and nuanced strategy toward containing the resurgence of Catholicism. We have to understand that this resurgence of the Catholic Faith in the West won't be a grassroots movement at first but will be mostly driven by a well-funded and dynamic elite. We also have to develop a mature response as unfortunately most of the time our attitude toward Catholics fluctuate between no-engagement or naive engagement. It's either we don't want anything to do with them or let's sing Kumbaya and hold hands with our 'Catholic brothers and sisters'. It looks like for most Muslims online there is no in-between. We have to come to terms with the fact that while we are theological opponents we can (and I think should) also be political allies with Catholics (Southern Baptists, Catholics and Mormons are all simultaneously theological opponents of each other and political allies). What Conservative Novus Ordo Catholics and Traditional Catholics (regardless if they are Ecclesia Dei, SSPX or sedevacantists) have in common is that they hate religious relativism (and rightly so!), so we should avoid any kind of discourse that overemphasis what we have in common theologically, while remaining very civil in our attitude and pointing to the fact that overall our interests converge politically. We have to walk a fine line. We also have to invest heavily in Islamic Apologetic again. Our apologists should be able to work full-time in this field, we need to be totally transparent about it and everyone should know exactly how much they are making (as the goal is for them to earn a living wage and not to get rich). Wealthy Muslims need to rise up to the occasion. We can't compete forever against a well-funded anti-Islam industry while our apologists are barely getting by. I have been studying on my own the Magisterium of the Catholic Church for years now and I think that we should train some of our brothers in this field, so they may be equipped to respond to Catholics. Most of our Apologists have been trained to respond to low-Church "Solo Scriptura Protestants" (I wrote Solo Scriptura and not Sola Scriptura here on purpose), we're thus currently unprepared to face the rise of Catholicism.
