Building the Future and Restoring the Balance. A rational voice for the majority of Kansans

Kansas
🔥 Bob Dole’s immigration message thirty years ago and Adam Hamilton’s position today share a common foundation: enforce immigration laws, respect human dignity and bring Americans together. 🇺🇸 Accepting the Republican presidential nomination, Dole affirmed America’s right to control its borders and opposed unlawful immigration. He also said a Mexican family arriving legally that morning had the same right to the American Dream as descendants of the Founding Fathers. Dole insisted that the Republican Party welcome citizens of every race and religion. To those who rejected that principle, he declared that the exits were clearly marked. He stood with the party of Lincoln, without compromise on inclusion. Hamilton’s own words reflect that balance: “Kansans expect our immigration laws to be enforced. But we also expect each person to be treated with dignity and respect.” His statement criticized both the Biden’s administration handling of the border and the disruption caused by ICE operations in southwest Kansas under Trump. He described the consequences for families, schools, businesses and agriculture, then called for lasting, bipartisan immigration reform. “Neither party has been able to solve this on their own. It’s past time Washington ended the chaos and actually worked together to solve problems for Kansas families.” That willingness to work across party lines also echoes Dole, who said that “honorable compromise is no sin” and described it as protection against absolutism and intolerance. Last night near Wichita, Trump described millions of migrants as “totally incompatible with the West,” mocked an American Muslim candidate’s name and disparaged American immigrants from Somalia as arriving with “low IQs and no money.” Marshall portrayed France’s unrest as a consequence of immigration policies and capitulation to “radical Islam,” warning that America could burn next. He offered no evidence establishing that explanation. French authorities categorically deny those sentiments. Reuters described protests over living costs and underfunded public services that descended into rioting and looting. That rhetoric encourages Americans to view entire communities with suspicion. Dole warned against dividing us into factions. Remembering World War II, he described the blood of immigrants’ sons and enslaved people’s grandsons as equally American. Shared sacrifice transcended ancestry. He asked Americans to defend that unity against the urge to divide. Dole also emphasized equal opportunity and equal protection under the Constitution. Immigrants within this country have constitutional protections, including due process and equal protection. Enforcing immigration laws does not erase those safeguards. A vote for Adam Hamilton is a vote for the ideals and vision Senator Dole shared with the nation: lawful immigration, human dignity, equal opportunity and a country united across our differences. A vote for Roger Marshall rewards the politics of division that Dole warned against. Dole firmly told those holding that exclusionary outlook to leave the party of Lincoln that night. 1/6 Marshall beats Trump on lie, false statement rate 30 false, misleading or unsupported claim groups in roughly 110 minutes. That is the current tally from Roger Marshall’s and Donald Trump’s October 19 speeches in Park City, near Wichita. This is the core list reviewed so far. Additional review could identify more. Related statements are grouped together, and claims repeated by both speakers are counted separately for each speaker. *To be fair, Trump meandered with unrelated stories and was interrupted nearly a dozen times so his lie rate is not as high as Marshall’s. Marshall: 9 flagged claim groups in about 11 minutes 0.82 per minute, or one every 1 minute, 13 seconds. Trump: 21 flagged claim groups in about 98 minutes 0.21 per minute, or one every 4 minutes, 40 seconds. COMBINED: 30 in approximately 110 minutes roughly one every 3 minutes, 40 seconds. ROGER MARSHALL FRANCE: AN UNSUBSTANTIATED IMMIGRATION NARRATIVE. The demonstrations concerned rising living costs, school conditions and underfunded public services. France’s domestic intelligence agency, DGSI, categorically denied specific reports of Islamist-linked rioters carrying automatic weapons. reuters.com/world/students-t… lemonde.fr/societe/live/2026… Le Monde documented Trump and his MAGA allies promoting an immigration explanation while disregarding protesters’ demands. Security expert François Heisbourg called those interventions “interference.” lemonde.fr/en/international/… APOLOGIZING FOR BEING WHITE: A FALSE CHARACTERIZATION. Hamilton discussed recognizing racial advantages and repenting his own indifference to injustice. An attack ad joined remarks made almost a minute apart, changing their meaning. He did not tell people to apologize for their skin color. aol.com/articles/republican-… CONTEXT: MARSHALL’S FORMER PASTOR REJECTED THE RADICAL PORTRAYAL. Joshua Leu, a former senior pastor at Marshall’s church, described Hamilton as a “middle-of-the-road pastor” willing to listen to different perspectives. Leu also preached about racism and encouraged listening to Black and Hispanic neighbors. Marshall served on that church’s board and invited Leu to deliver the House’s opening prayer. aol.com/articles/republican-… BEEF AND CLIMATE: EDITED REMARKS OMIT CONTEXT. Hamilton preached about environmental stewardship and suggested dietary changes among ways to reduce emissions. An attack ad spliced comments about cattle emissions together with a broader call to repentance. aol.com/articles/ad-quotes-s… Marshall has also acknowledged agriculture’s greenhouse-gas emissions and supported legislation to accelerate approval of emissions-reducing feed additives. He separately voted to advance food-labeling legislation that drew objections from pork producers. His record deserves the same context as Hamilton’s remarks. hpj.com/2023/07/07/senator-m… farms.com/ag-industry-news/s… #KsLeg #KsSen #TrumpRally #RogerMarshall #FactCheck #Vote

Trump’s version of “America First”: ✈️ Wichita’s Bombardier: BAD. 🛢️ Putin’s Russian diesel: GOOD? 🏛️ Government owning businesses: Suddenly GOOD? ⚠️ Kansas jobs tied to Canada: At risk. Government ownership of businesses is a feature of socialism. Yet the free-market Cato Institute reports that Trump’s administration has announced or completed ownership arrangements covering 35 companies. These include shares already acquired, pending deals, and warrants, options, and convertible securities giving Washington rights to acquire ownership. 💰 What does that look like? Intel: $8.9 billion for a 9.9% ownership stake under the announced agreement. MP Materials: $400 million for convertible preferred stock, plus warrants to acquire additional shares. Elmet: up to $450 million in preferred-stock purchases, with warrants and rights to appoint a director and approve certain major business decisions. Those three agreements alone provide for up to approximately $9.75 billion in stock funding. That is a subtotal, not the total for all 35 companies. Cato calls the administration’s approach unprecedented “state corporatism.” Republicans campaign against socialism while Trump makes Washington a corporate shareholder. Trump threatened a U.S. sales ban on Bombardier, a Canadian aircraft company supporting more than 1,000 Kansas jobs. Then he announced a Russian diesel deal and temporarily eased sanctions restrictions for those deliveries. Washington gets corporate ownership. Putin gets a business opportunity while Russia reportedly shares intelligence that could help Iran target American forces. Wichita workers get uncertainty. Taxpayers get investment risk. 🇺🇸 That double standard drains the credibility from both “Stop Socialism” and “America First.” 📚 SOURCES Cato Institute: Federal ownership portfolio reaches 35 companies. Republican Pat Proctor is actively trying to undermine trust in Kansas elections while people are already casting their votes and just days before Election Night. And he’s doing it while running for Secretary of State, the very office responsible for overseeing those elections. Proctor has repeatedly made alarming claims about illegal voting, election conspiracies, voting-rights organizations and the integrity of Kansas elections. But what happens when we compare his rhetoric with the actual law and evidence? 🔴 NONCITIZEN VOTING: Proctor suggests Topeka and Lawrence might allow noncitizens to vote. FACT: Kansas laws and constitution already prohibit noncitizens from voting at any election. Neither city has an identified proposal to allow it. 🔴 FEDERAL COURT RULING: Proctor points to a federal judge’s ruling as evidence that Kansas needs his constitutional amendment. FACT: The Florida ruling involved a very specific federal criminal case. It cannot invalidate Kansas election law or authorize noncitizens to vote here. 🔴 LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS: Proctor has portrayed the League as part of an organized effort to undermine elections. FACT: The League is a nonpartisan civic organization. The dispute concerns $5 Starbucks gift cards offered at student voter-registration events, not votes for any candidate. No broader election conspiracy has been established. 🔴 VOTER ROLLS: Proctor has highlighted claims that Kansas has more elderly registered voters than elderly residents. FACT: The comparison included inactive registrations and older Census estimates. It does not establish that deceased individuals voted or fraudulent ballots were cast. 🔴 ELECTION CONSPIRACIES: Proctor repeatedly warns about noncitizen voting, yet recently acknowledged: “There’s not a vast conspiracy for noncitizen votes in the state of Kansas.” 🔴 WOMEN VOTING: During the 2022 abortion amendment election, Proctor described young women turning out to vote as: “They’re stealing it fair and square.” FACT: Those women were exercising their constitutional rights. Kansas voters rejected the amendment 59% to 41%. ⸻ There is a difference between protecting election integrity and undermining public confidence in elections. Proctor has every right to advocate for changes to election laws and campaign for his constitutional amendment. But Kansans also deserve to know when his claims are unsupported, misleading or missing important legal context. The consequences extend beyond one campaign or one amendment. When a candidate seeking to oversee elections repeatedly suggests that lawful voting, voter-registration efforts, court challenges and unproven allegations are evidence of a compromised system, it raises serious questions about the public’s confidence in election administration. Kansas voters are already making decisions. Election Day is November 3. This is precisely when accuracy, transparency and responsible public statements matter most. Our elections belong to the voters, not the candidates. 🇺🇸 Kansas deserves facts, not fear. 🚨 AFP’s pitch is false and misleading. Check Masterson’s actual record. 🏠 Masterson voted YES on HB2289 to END Kansas’s Affordable Housing Tax Credit Program. New state matches for federal 4% projects ended in 2025, and new state awards end after 2028. Federal credits remain, and previously awarded credits are protected. 💰 More than $1.1 million in pay for his role at WSU’s Koch-backed GoCreate program. ALEC’s national chair in 2024. Endorsed by Koch-backed AFP. These connections belong alongside the campaign pitch. 📉 AFP also backed Brownback’s tax experiment. Kansas faced budget crises and repeated credit-rating downgrades. And that “largest tax cuts” claim? The state’s original forecast for the 2012 package was larger over its first five fiscal years. 🔊 Listen to the call. Read the record. We don’t like Florida elites who break the law and then get the conviction erased. Who also sue their patients and then vote to cut their health insurance. Frauds who pledge loyalty to Trump and let our beef and crops lose markets. Who spend more time praising Trump on NewsMax than talking to Kansas constituents. You are the communist shill for a Putin Diesel deal. A socialist shill supporting Trumps government taking over of private industry. A shill for extreme Islamists who bribe your Dear Leader with back room deals and 747s.

🌴📣 Trump’s coming to Kansas to “save” his favorite Florida “yes man.” Roger Marshall has spent years cheering Trump on. Now Trump’s coming to return the favor. But cheerleading doesn’t pay the bills. Watch Marshall’s lavish praise alongside rising Kansas fuel costs, increased farm bankruptcy filings, and the record he keeps defending. When Kansans pressed him in Oakley, he ended the meeting early and walked out. He later called town halls “non-productive and dangerous.” Kansas deserves a senator who answers to the people he represents. Trump has a cheerleader. 🌻 New leadership. Real solutions. Kansas first. Adam Hamilton is running as an independent-minded Democrat willing to challenge his own party and put Kansans first. Former Republican governors are supporting him: 🏛️ Bill Graves, former Republican governor and past Marshall supporter: “People like Roger ought to stand up and speak the truth. And he has chosen not to, and that troubles me a great deal.” 🏛️ Mike Hayden, former Republican governor, on supporting a Democrat for U.S. Senate for the first time: “Our current situation needs to change. And Adam Hamilton is the face of change.” Hamilton’s commitments give voters plenty of substance to consider: 🎤 Show up and listen. Hold regular, in-person town halls across Kansas every year he serves and continue living in Kansas. 🌾 Support Kansas agriculture. End the Iran war, challenge tariffs driving up costs and require congressional approval for new tariffs. Expand agricultural export markets, domestic fertilizer production and animal-disease preparedness. 🚜 Advance the Farm Bill. Hamilton said he would have voted to move it forward when every Democrat on the Senate Agriculture Committee opposed it. 👷 Build a stable, legal agricultural workforce, including year-round H-2A visas. Support immigration enforcement focused on dangerous criminals and cooperation with local law enforcement. 🏛️ Change Washington’s leadership. “I’m not supporting Schumer for leader.” Supports congressional term limits through a constitutional amendment. Stronger residency requirements and withholding congressional pay during government shutdowns. ⚖️ End conflicts of interest. Ban individual-stock trading by members of Congress and their households. Permanently prohibit former members from becoming federal lobbyists and protect inspectors general from political interference. 📉 Take the national debt seriously. Work across party lines on fiscal challenges. Hamilton opposed proposed $5,000 federal dividend checks, arguing available funds should go toward debt reduction or essential needs. 💵 Protect taxpayer dollars. Address Medicare Advantage overpayments and waste without cutting beneficiaries’ benefits. Require companies to repay economic-development incentives when they fail to deliver promised jobs and investment. 👵 Protect Social Security and seniors’ independence. Preserve earned benefits and strengthen access to in-home care so more seniors can age at home with dignity. 💊 Lower health care costs. Expand Medicare drug-price negotiations to private insurance, restore enhanced ACA premium tax credits, support rural hospitals and add dental and vision coverage to Medicare. 🏡 Provide targeted tax relief and affordable housing. Create homebuyer tax credits for first-time buyers, police officers, firefighters and teachers. Stop algorithmic rent price-fixing. 👮 Support public safety. Give investigators resources to pursue elder fraud and scams, including criminals using AI to impersonate family members. ⚡ Strengthen domestic energy and protect utility customers. Support an all-of-the-above energy strategy and year-round E15. Require data centers to cover their electricity costs and competitive bidding for major transmission projects. 🔒 Protect privacy. Set limits on access to and retention of Flock license-plate data, with stronger Fourth Amendment protections before taxpayer support. 🔎 Accountability without political revenge. We want Washington focused on solving problems while pursuing evidence-based investigations and holding people accountable for wrongdoing, regardless of party. Accountability should serve the public, never personal vengeance. You don’t have to agree with Hamilton on everything to recognize the value of a senator willing to listen, work across party lines and answer to Kansas. 🎥 Watch (youtu.be/M4SlsRayXzo) 📋 Read Hamilton’s policy proposals (hamiltonforkansas.com/issues…) #KsSen #KsLeg #Vote #RepublicansForHamilton

🚨🚔 Senator Roger Marshall in 2020: “The officer should be charged to the fullest extent and never see the light of day again.” Now he calls Hamilton anti-police for wanting accountability. Meanwhile, when Marshall nearly ran over a neighbor, the battery and reckless driving charges got erased. Replaced with a minor ticket. The prosecutor was the son of his business partner. 🚨🚔 Listen to the 911 call. Rules should be the same for everyone. Less than two years ago, Roger Marshall backed Matt Gaetz to be U.S. Attorney General. “Matt has the talent to go in there and make a difference,” Marshall said in November 2024. Now two women have filed a federal civil lawsuit accusing Gaetz of sex trafficking. The lawsuit also alleges that he paid a 17-year-old girl for sex. The alleged conduct dates from 2017 through January 2019, when Gaetz and Marshall were serving together in the U.S. House. Gaetz disputes the allegations. Their public support for each other continued after their time together in Congress. In December 2024, Gaetz wrote: “Dr. Marshall really is a terrific senator.” And just 12 days ago, on October 3, Gaetz called Marshall “an excellent senator” and asked, “How is this even close in Kansas?!” Marshall wanted Gaetz running the Justice Department. Gaetz wants Marshall representing Kansas. These are their words. Their endorsements. Their judgment. Watch the timeline. #ksleg #kssen

“Check this bad boy out.” That’s what Ty Masterson wrote when forwarding a car trailer listing from his WSU email account. His job? Director of GoCreate, the Koch-funded workshop where his annual salary was set at $217,350. @KCStar reports that Masterson sent just 14 emails from that account in four months. His assistant director sent 532. And the questions go beyond his inbox. Students told reporters they had never seen him there. A front desk employee couldn’t put his name to his face. His assistant director initially introduced herself to reporters as the director. That’s supposed to be Ty’s title. When reporters requested his emails, WSU supplied 26 pages. More than 17 were blank or completely blacked out. Only four of his emails were readable: • Forwarding the car trailer listing: “Check this bad boy out.” • Passing an audit request for software expenses to his assistant director. • Asking to delay releasing his calendar until he could review it with his lawyer. • Correcting a university biography that wrongly said he graduated from Kansas State. Masterson has collected more than $1.1 million from WSU over the last decade. The position’s annual base salary is scheduled to reach $241,781 in 2027. He denies the “no-show job” allegation. Email counts alone don’t measure someone’s work. But Kansans deserve to know what results came with those paychecks and how this Koch-funded employment arrangement fits alongside his power in the Legislature. Before asking voters for a promotion to governor, Masterson should explain what he accomplished at the job he already had. “Check this bad boy out” isn’t much of a performance review. Ty Masterson is consumed with a witch hunt. Where is his plan for property taxes, affordability, health care, data centers, jobs and fully funding our schools? Kansans need answers. Ty is investigating TikTok witchcraft. The New Republic reported these remarks from his recent appearance in Wichita: “Like I said, my opponent, she didn’t even hide it,” Masterson said. “She talked—they had witch—I mean, they’re doing like witchcraft spells on TikTok so she can win the governorship. I mean, they’re like … it’s like demonic stuff that they’re doing, right? Just in your face that way.” The apparent basis? Playful videos of @cindy4kansas and her daughter, including brushing their teeth to music from @WICKEDmovie , the Universal movie musical that reimagines the world of The Wizard of Oz. A mom and her daughter having fun. Ty turns it into a spiritual emergency. How does this lower anyone’s property taxes? Make health care affordable? Protect communities facing massive data center proposals? Create jobs or fund classrooms? We already lived through the #Brownback experiment. We don’t need the Salem sequel. Kansas needs a Governor, not more manufactured culture wars. Roger Marshall backs Trump. Kansans get the bill. 💰 Trump’s war of choice in Iran has disrupted oil supplies and sent fuel costs soaring. By October 13, Kansas gasoline prices had climbed more than 57% and diesel more than 77% since the war began. Kansas diesel hit a record statewide average of $6.25 a gallon in September. That means higher costs to harvest crops, haul goods and get to work. @FoxNews is reporting the squeeze: the September inflation report shows prices rising 3.7% over the past year. Marshall owns his part in this. On September 24, he voted AGAINST a resolution directing the removal of U.S. forces from hostilities with Iran. On October 30, 2025, he voted AGAINST ending the emergency declaration behind Trump’s global tariffs. He has continued defending Trump’s tariff strategy and the war as families absorb the costs. Meanwhile, researchers ranked Kansas FIRST in its 2026 financial-distress study. Families were already struggling. Higher fuel costs, tariffs and trade fights pile more pressure onto household budgets and farm operations. Marshall’s response to rising gas prices? “Americans are going to have to make some sacrifices.” Kansans are making those sacrifices every time they fill up, buy groceries or try to stretch a paycheck. This is the Marshall/Trump economy. Marshall keeps supporting the decisions. Kansas keeps paying for them. Remember that when you vote.

If you took tax law, you should recognize the difference between qualifying for a deduction and being legally required to pursue patients. Section 166 governs bad-debt deductions. It does not say doctors must collect every unpaid bill or face arrest. In fact, Treasury Regulation § 1.166-2(b) is explicitly titled “Legal action not required.” It allows evidence that a debt is uncollectible to establish worthlessness when litigation would probably recover nothing. Yes, a taxpayer must substantiate a bad-debt deduction. No, that does not mean a doctor must sue patients, charge 18% interest, or face criminal liability for declining to do so. An unsupported deduction and deliberate tax fraud are different matters. You also haven’t established that Marshall claimed these particular debts as tax deductions. If his practice used cash accounting and never reported the unpaid fees as income, those fees generally wouldn’t qualify for a bad-debt deduction in the first place. And nothing in Section 166 requires an 18% interest rate or overrides Kansas interest-rate limits. “Federal law made him do it” is not supported by the law you cited.
