What if two days after death could feel more painful than 80 years of life? ⤵️
That is the extraordinary testimony attributed to Blessed Mother Speranza of Jesus.
Mother Speranza said the Lord once showed her a bishop who had died and was about to enter the glory of Heaven. The bishop had approved the first Sanctuary of the Merciful Love, and according to her testimony, the Lord was greatly pleased with what he had done.
But before entering Heaven, the bishop revealed something that shocked her.
He told her he had suffered greatly in Purgatory.
Mother Speranza couldn't understand. She said, “Your Excellency, you died yesterday in Rome. Why do you tell me that you have suffered for a long time if only two days have passed?”
His answer carried a terrifying lesson.
Those two days in Purgatory had seemed more painful to him than the 80 years he had lived on Earth.
Because after death, the soul sees everything differently. It encounters God and understands, with complete clarity, how it lived, how it loved, and all the moments it neglected Him.
Suddenly, the things that seemed so important during earthly life are seen for what they truly were.
Money. Status. Possessions. All of it eventually gets left behind.
But how you loved God does not.
And that was the warning the bishop wanted Mother Speranza to give to others:
Don't wait until the end of your life to remember God. Don't assume you'll have more time.
Love Him now. Live for Him now.
Because according to the testimony, the bishop left her with one final message:
“Tell everyone that the afterlife exists and that on earth the most important thing is to love the Lord. Everything else is useless.”
