When I was a baby I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (right hemiplegia). At 15 I had to get a left-foot accelerator because my right foot couldn’t press the gas. I also have no peripheral vision on my right side and was in accidents that weren’t my fault because of it. In 2023 my dad researched Tesla and was blown away by FSD’s safety. We bought a 2023 Model Y Performance and I joined the FSD Beta on v10. Being part of testing every update since has been unbelievable. FSD didn’t just make driving easier. It gave me back the freedom to go wherever I want, whenever I want, without the constant mental stress of worrying about other drivers or my own limitations. Multi-stop trips, rain, busy roads, parking lots with Summon… things that used to drain me now feel normal. Now in my 2026 Model X Plaid “Ghost,” that independence is even stronger… especially now with FSD 14.3.6. Thank you Tesla for building the safest vehicles on the road and completely changing my life. I’ll never take it for granted. Keep changing the world.

My son Justin just shared his story. As his dad, I want to add mine. Justin has cerebral palsy and reduced peripheral vision on his right side. His attitude and approach to life help him meet those challenges head-on. Still, his mom and I have always worried about his safety on the road and his independence. When EVs first arrived, I looked for a car that could help offset those challenges. We tried a Jaguar I-Pace, thinking a premium vehicle would make parking and lane-keeping easier. Two weeks later an older woman hit him broadside—he never saw her coming. We fixed the car, but a few more minor fender-benders followed (none his fault—other drivers suddenly changing lanes). Justin never received a ticket, yet the incidents still affected our insurance. Then a friend in California who owned a Model S told me about Tesla’s driver-assistance systems and the rapid progress they were making with Autopilot. As a pilot myself, that idea resonated deeply. We sold the I-Pace and bought a Model Y Performance. The only real issue we had was ordering it with low-profile tires and larger rims—Justin bent a few of them on potholes. He joined the FSD Beta and has been testing every update since. For his mom and me, Full Self-Driving simply makes Justin a safer driver. That peace of mind is everything. A month ago Justin finally persuaded his mom to give FSD a try. She’s still on the fence… but he’s got her leaning so far she’s practically doing the limbo over it. I’ve now joined the Tesla family myself with a Model X. Justin’s brother also bought a Model X. Even though he owns a Porsche Turbo, he and his wife prefer to supervise their X as it takes them places rather than drive their sporty car. As I age, my own capabilities will diminish. I want to hold onto my independence as long as I can. I still remember how painful it was to take my dad’s car keys away in his later years. I want to stay safe for my family the same way Justin wants to stay safe for his. I’m proud of Justin for so many things—the way he shows up in his community, his uplifting attitude, and the real difference he makes. Tesla didn’t just build safer vehicles. They changed our family’s world. Thank you, Justin. And thank you, Tesla

Dad, I can’t thank you enough for buying me the best and safest vehicle ever built. It’s been unreal. Thanks to FSD, I have no anxiety of other Memphis drivers running into me as my Tesla has me covered. I trust it fully.

I most definitely will keep moving forward. My goal is to tell as many people as I can about the technology of FSD and teslas. My dad found this saying and it’s perfect… Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. By Charles Swindoll.

Same for me. The enablement of freedom for many with some health challenges is the most under recognized aspect of Tesla FSD that @elonmusk and his teams have created.

I totally agree David. There vehicles have enabled so many physically challenged and seniors of all ages to regain their independence. There needs to be so many others who spread the word of what Tesla has done for them. Just like me.

Hi Justin, did you have to get a left foot accelerator installed in your Tesla’s?

Good evening Ebony. With extremely hard work, I was able to gain strength in my right foot to drive pushing the gas pedal. I was able to drive normal and didn’t need the left foot accelerator pedal. Even though FSD drives me everywhere, In parking lot situations, I am able to depress the gas pedal perfectly fine.

You are so right Richie. This is only the beginning of Teslas opening a whole world of opportunities to help people with not only physical disabilities but seniors who want their independence. I’m thrilled to be a part of this amazing Tesla family. It keeps growing by the day. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Thank you so much. 😊 it’s only time it is recognized as an accessibility vehicle. Leave it to Tesla to think of physically challenged people… aka Cybercab. On the buttons, they have braille inscribed on them.
