Note that the second and fifth-place podium spots are empty because female athletes Lauren Matthew (West Valley) and Quincy Andrews (West Valley) elected NOT to take part in their own medal ceremony. Also missing is sixth-place finisher Olivia Banfield (Columbia River).
WIAA has no official count of trans-identified males competing in Washington K12 sport, nor of how many varsity slots and podium spots they may have taken, with personal and potential scholarship cost to female athletes.
This is one of the reasons I shall be voting YES on I-638 in Washington to help assure fair female sport.
