3 accounts you must have if you live in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1. ISA Account to save and invest your money tax free. It protects you from paying tax on your investments and savings interest. 2. High yield savings account ( HYSA) to save your money and earn higher returns and interest. Instead of leaving your money in your regular bank account, open a high yield savings account. It’s perfect for saving your emergency fund. 3. Pension account. Either through a self invested pension (SIPP) or your employer pension match. It’s never too early to plan for retirement. Make sure to utilize your pension especially employer pension contributions. This also has tax benefits and advantages. Which of these accounts do you have? Building a business as an immigrant can feel isolating, but you don’t have to do it alone. Since building Kervah, I’ve been intentional about seeking opportunities to engage with my local business ecosystem, attend networking events like Bizzy Lasses Connect, build relationships and access support. My advice? Explore what your local council offers around business growth, economic development, networking and funding. Show up, connect and build your network. You never know where one conversation might lead! 🚀 #ImmigrantEntrepreneurs #SmallBusiness #Kervah

When we’re ready, we must start telling ourselves the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Nigeria has a serious problem with rape culture, and we must confront it honestly. A UK lawyer’s reported argument that a Nigerian man accused of raping a minor acted because of his “cultural background” should make us reflect on the image we project to the world. Rape is not our culture. Abuse is not tradition. Culture must never be an excuse for sexual violence. We cannot change the narrative by denying the problem. We change it by confronting it, holding perpetrators accountable, educating our society, and protecting victims. The truth may be uncomfortable, but acknowledging the problem is the first step towards changing the narrative.
