Pearl says she doesn’t believe in child support because women have access to abortion and Plan B. This is a crazy take that will only lead to more degeneracy and more abortion. Children shouldn’t be casualties in the war between the sexes. The solution to things being unfair for men isn’t to give them the same right to abandon their parental responsibility that women have; you would never argue men should have the ability to kill their preborn kids just because women in America have that right, and yet that would be what’s actually equal and “fair.” The solution is no abortion—not because that’s what’s fair to men who can’t abandon their parental obligation or kill their kids, but because that’s what’s fair to the most vulnerable among us, the children and especially the preborn.

It’s crazy because elsewhere in the debate Pearl cited abortion as proof women aren’t nurturing, and she seems to admit abortion is at least not a good thing. So…why support policies (like abolishing child support) that would lead to more abortion? Everyone—men and women both—need to be way more careful about who they’re intimate with and in what circumstances they’re intimate. Children shouldn’t have to suffer for adults’ recklessness.

I caught a glimpse at this debate over the weekend, I couldn’t get beyond this part.

I have listened to her a lot. I truly feel like she just doesn’t like women at all. Her views are alway postulated around how it affects men.

Agreed. She dismisses everyone who disagrees with her as a feminist who hates men, but I’m generally very friendly to her overall concern—men’s wellbeing, rights, and mental health. But she doesn’t care about women at all. And she’s willing to sacrifice more children in order to make things “fair” for men, which makes me sick. The answer isn’t less men’s accountability to match women’s supposed lack of accountability; it’s more women’s accountability to match men’s perceived accountability. That’s what’s best for CHILDREN.

You don’t understand the game Pearl is playing. She believes the only way to defeat feminism is by amplifying and accelerating feminism — taking it to its logical end point She is doing an internal critique and arguing that if women get to opt out of parenthood via abortion then men can opt out of parenthood via not paying child support. She’s granting their worldview and then showing them where it logically leads.

A man is responsible for any progeny resulting from his actions - just like any woman is. Pearl is not going to be the ultimate decision-maker in this scenario.

In a situation where a woman gets pregnant out of wedlock, primary custody is always going to go to the woman and the man gets "visitation" and bill. This is unjust. I agree that infants need their mothers more than fathers for obvious reasons, but men are routinely denied access when the parents aren't "together" and this is highly unfavorable to men. Judges often treat custody laws as a suggestion and it's very expensive for men to get anything changed, so the often do not.

If women have a choice then so should men. It's an internal critique, not an advocacy of more abortions.

It’s not merely a matter of fairness. Removing the obligation of child support from men until - at minimum - the father’s right to equal say in protection of his child from murder in the womb, would foster more support for pro life policies. Even if only for self serving reasons.

There is no solution, but strong families with rare divorces for extreme cases. And women going back to abstinence before marriage. That is how it worked well. We broke it, we have endless social mores that can never be patched back. The causalties are endless.

I don't think women should be able to abort their children between the ages of 18 to 25, if men are required to apply for the draft between those ages.

and actually yes if women have the right to end pregnancies men should have the right to walk away at least. until women are criminally punished for it men should be free to abandon their kids. this christian misandrist nonsense of men alone having to care for society is bs

IMO, if both don't want it, it should be adopted. ✋️If one or the other doesn't want to be involved, go to court, let a judge or mediator decide. I just don't think you fight over him or her paying support or not. By this time they probably hate each other and will set iut to do maximum damage to the other. I put the ✋️to remind me to tell about being a triggered AB Clinic protestor at 14! I remember yelling at people for calling a baby "it". I would scream and clutch pearls. I was genuinely horrified. They were so beneath me. I was close to God Almighty and could do no wrong! Amazing how stupid I was. Haven't thought about that in 30 years. Answering this post just popped up on my mind.🤣🤣🤣

naw, pearl's bluff here is sound the only thing thing they care about more than their ability to murder their child is the power to extract resources after divorce when they're ready to keep it and since it appeals to their claimed desire for equality, they can't dispute it

I appreciate ur take. Correct, we should not be competing for the bottom of the barrel. Fathers of living children do not deserve “equality” to fathers of dead children. Equality is such an abused, BS term these days. My husband tried to coerce me to abort our first child by saying he’d leave if I kept the baby. We need LESS abortion coercion, not more.

The solution shouldn’t be just taking men’s money from to spend Willie Nilly at mom’s discretion. All that does is turn men into ATMs under the guise of “Support” if she can pay for cigarettes, tattoos, alcohol other expenditures, she doesn’t need his money

When No Abortion is not something that's going to happen and is something solely decided by the woman, than it is absolutely fair for a man to be able to opt-out of child support as his "rights" don't matter. Women shouldn't get to decide something on their own that affects both

She’s probably afraid no man is willing to put himself on the birth certificate w her, so it feels easier to say she doesn’t want a man to have a family with.
124
Replying to @NJBeisner
Isn't that convenient? So the solution is advocating for something that you know will never happen and just letting men continue to be fucked over. Great The solution is to give men the power of not signing a birth certificate. Women will do the rest. Abortion would be gone.
14
Replying to @NJBeisner
I mean sure no abortion would be nice but it’s never gonna happen, at least fairness prevents some societal suffering in the long run. If men could leave it would force women to be more careful about which guys they choose their one night stands with, which would protect more kids.

Sad that that's the only perspective you see this from when there Is an obvious alternative perspective that only affects the women because the men already dont have those rights......

No abortion just makes things worse. Abortion is a net positive and causes less issues. On the flip side its only fair that a man can choose to not be a parent if a woman can choose to not be a parent. The real solution is for women to pick better and make sure the man they have
