Sixty-three years ago today, hundreds of thousands marched on Washington because they believed America could and must live up to its promise. They marched for racial justice, voting rights, good jobs, fair wages, and economic dignity.

I started in politics as a concerned parent who wanted to make my community a better place for my kids. It was hard to know where to start, so I relied on trainings and workshops to learn the basics.
