We are the Neural Systems and Behaviour Lab, part of @turnerinstitute. We do research into the neural basis of behaviour and mental illness. Lab Head: @AFornito
Hi 😊! This page will now be related to the Neural Systems and Behaviour Lab. if you want to follow the BrainPark’s mission to create healthy habits, brains and communities, head to @BrainPark or follow the activities of Neuroscience and Society group should visit @NeuroethicsAU
What mechanisms shape the intricate wiring of the cortex (i.e., its connectome)?

Interested in the principles shaping connectome architecture?
Check out our latest in @CellCellPress led by @_francisnormand w/ @jchrispang, @TrangCao2016,
J Cruddas, @m_gajwani, @Arshiya_San, @DrAlexHolmes, @StuartJOldham, & P Robinson.
We derive a simple model using geometric eigenmodes that can capture cortical connectome topology and topography of mouse, marmoset, macaque, chimp, and human connectomes, as mapped using diffusion MRI and tract-tracing.

And in #2766 (Wed/Thurs) @epsilongreedy uses a production and spreading model to investigate the genetic and connectomic constraints on gray matter volume changes in schizophrenia!
More Wed/Thurs posters:
#2128 @yinuo_shu describes how topologically complex connections support the diversity and flexibility of brain attractor dynamics
#2177 @_francisnormand bridges the gap between geometric eigenmodes and functional gradients in the human cortex
Other Monday/Tuesday posters:
#0425 by recent alumnus @DrAlexHolmes, on cortical geometric constraints on hierarchical sensory integration
#0676 where @m_gajwani investigates the self-similarity of human brain organization across scales using fractal mathematics ❄️
What is the reproducibility of morphometric phenotypes in psychiatric disorders? Hint: reproducibility does not look great for most disorders.
Poster #1729 (Wed/Thurs)
