25 years later, we honor the thousands of innocent victims of 9/11 and their families, the first responders who rushed towards danger without second thought, the doctors and nurses who healed the wounds of a bleeding City, and the workers who helped to rebuild in the wake of the devastation. We will never forget.

The anniversary of 9/11 is a time to honor the victims, survivors, first responders, and all New Yorkers whose lives were forever changed by the attacks on the World Trade Center. This rhetoric against Mayor Mamdani and Muslim New Yorkers is nothing but vile islamaphobia that goes against what our city stands for. This is a moment that should bring us together, not drive us apart.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he will attend Friday’s ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, despite criticism from former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who said Mamdani’s presence at Ground Zero would offend him. Mamdani declined to respond further to Giuliani’s comments, saying his focus will be on the families who lost loved ones and the first responders who gave everything to the city. “I love this city. I love this country,” Mamdani told reporters.

Union strong ✊ Thousands of union workers converged in Lower Manhattan for the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO Labor Day Rally & March, a powerful show of solidarity from teachers, transit workers, writers, healthcare workers, construction workers, and so many others who keep New York City moving.   This gathering carries a history that runs deep. The first Labor Day celebration in the country took place in New York City in 1882. More than 140 years later, the fight continues for fair pay, safe working conditions and a stronger future for working people.

The men and women of labor didn’t just build our country, they fought for and won so many rights that are too often taken for granted. This Labor Day, we honor those victories by continuing the fight to make life more affordable and make sure every family has a fair shot.

The Mayor’s Office of Worker Power will ensure that all New Yorkers have the opportunity to organize for the rights, wages, and dignity they deserve. HTC members—including workers from The Jewel who just won their first contract after a 7 year fight—were excited to be with @NYCMayor and @JulieSuLabor as they made clear that New York really is a union town!
BREAKING: Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces a first-of-its-kind office focused on organizing workers in New York City. The Mayor’s Office of Worker Power will provide workers with resources needed to organize their workplaces, hold public hearings on major worker issues, and more.

🏙️ New York City is powered by its people. Today, we honor union members, organizers, and workers across all five boroughs who keep the city moving every day. ✊ And there’s no better place to celebrate Labor Day than the city where America’s first Labor Day parade took place in 1882.

HTC is proud to support @bradlander for Congress! Brad has consistently supported hotel workers throughout his time in office, and we are confident he will continue to be a friend to labor in Washington.
Grateful to earn the endorsement of @NYHTC. NYC’s hotel workers are indispensable to our city’s first-rate tourism industry. And HTC is indispensable to helping them win lives of dignity and to afford this expensive city. As Comptroller, I helped over 5,000 hotel workers win good union contracts. I'll be one of their strongest champions in the halls of Congress.

This hard-fought win by @NYHTC is a win for the dignity of workers across the city—and we've been proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with them on the picket line. Congrats to the dedicated hospitality staff whose new contract offers more sustainable pay and family health care.
After 47 long days on the picket line, we are thrilled to announce a contract for our members at the Fairfield Inn and Four Points Times Square! Workers who started this fight nearly 4 years ago will receive more than $50,000 in back pay each, immediate wage increases of between $10-15 per hour, free family health care, retirement benefits and more. We are so grateful for the thousands of members, elected officials, and supporters who stood with us through 100 degree weather, rain storms, and wildfire smoke to make this victory possible!

What a phenomenal, hard-fought victory for @NYHTC. No one who has spent years welcoming visitors to our city should have to fight this hard for dignity and respect. Congratulations to the hotel workers who stood together and never backed down.

After 47 long, hot days on the picket line, hotel workers at the Fairfield by Marriott Manhattan Times Square and Four Points by Sheraton Midtown have a contract, something they’ve been fighting for since they voted to join the @nyhtc in 2022. Hotel workers will get the fair pay, benefits, and respect they deserve.
