This ruling affirms what we've long known to be true. The holding room conditions at 26 Federal Plaza are completely deplorable.
After I was arrested demanding access there last year, I made the decision to take my case to trial to help expose the staggering extent of ICE's inhumanity. The American public deserved to know all about the abuses happening behind those walls.
Now there's finally some legal relief to rein in the depravity of these unacceptable detention facilities. Grateful for the countless court-watchers, advocates, lawyers & allies — and Judge Kaplan — who delivered this important legal victory. We won’t stop fighting to protect our neighbors.

I will not stop speaking out against the Trump administration’s egregious abuse of immigrant children.
Very young kids are being held in detention and forced to go before a judge – without any lawyer by their side. Even though many of these children have relatives who live here, the U.S. government is cruelly preventing them from reunifying with their family.
Fortunately a group of top-rate lawyers are stepping up to provide legal representation to these kids. This effort, called the Children's Due Process Project, just launched. It is a great time to contribute to the organizations answering the call to protect children.
