Earlier today, Carson Benge robbed Jung Hoo Lee of a hit with a great diving catch in right-center field. @HowieRose was quick to point out the similarity between Benge’s catch and the one made by Ron Swoboda in the 1969 World Series.

Going with the radio broadcast the rest of the way. It's hitting me now that he's almost done calling games.

Of course the difference is that my father, a Yankee fan growing up, was serendipitously given a ticket to Game 4 in 1969, saw the Swoboda catch in person, brought his young son back a Mets hat & I’ve been a diehard Mets fan ever since! LGM!!! Miss you, Dad. And thanks. ❤️ ⚾️

I thought of Swoboda immediately. I looked at X and Howie was the only one to say it. That was also my first year selling peanuts at Shea.😎

Howie is irreplaceable. He's been there all the way. I hope he has a long, healthy retirement.

This is why Howie is the goat. He’s been here for literally the entire time that the Mets have been a team.
