In India, people still donate online because they believe someone is genuinely in trouble. Jay Singh Rathore used that trust to raise around lakhs by claiming his 12 year old sister needed urgent eye treatment. He has now been arrested by Agra Police. The most disturbing part is not just the money. It is the damage to trust. After cases like this, people may think twice before helping a genuinely sick child or a family in desperate need. Scamming someone is bad. Using a child's illness and fake medical records to trigger people's emotions is something that deserves serious legal action. Online sympathy should never become a business model.

I sometimes doubt the claims of those seeking monetory help for taking care of elders, sick person, animals, catastrophic events, etc. So I donate a minimum amount till I am sure it is genuine

It is sad, but we should not stop helping. We should check carefully before donating. Even if a scammer lies, our intent was good and God sees our heart. Our kindness is never wasted.

You should not be even talking about using people's lives and tragedies to trigger people's emotions . One should not talk about online sympathy while seeking attention, engagement and Elon Bucks out of it. Get well soon.

"Scamming someone is bad." TRUE. what about false 498A, maintenance claims, SC/ST cases, Reservation policy, alimony? and Judiciary supports it
