E-waste is something we hate but unfortunately very baked into current electronics supply chains and production techniques. As a sustainable fintech although our environmental footprint is limited we are constantly striving to reduce waste and so when our engineer Adam Wangrat suggested we start to look at open source laptop architectures as a way to reduce our footprint we jumped at the chance and commissioned a pilot to test out @FrameworkPuter laptops. The idea behind Framework is simple - an open architecture and open source modular components, high recycled inputs in production and a focus on lifecycle carbon analysis and reduction and even signature parts for individuality. Fast forward and we've been so pleased with the pilot results we decided to commit the whole company to transitioning from wasteful, difficult to upgrade and replace, closed system architectures by 2025 (e.g. ๐Ÿ)ย  to more sustainable open architectures such as Framework. We'll be sharing more about this and some of the other steps we are taking to be more sustainable but in the meantime you can find out more about Framework laptops below. frame.work/gb/en/about
