Found the interview in tonight's Mail with Alastair Stewart so moving, such a kind man, when I left rehab 21 years ago there were very few friends left who bothered returning my calls - such had been my behaviour and isolation towards end of my drinking years. Alastair was one of few who I talked to. I didn't even know him that well then - he just cares about people. He is special. He has helped many quietly and asked for nothing in return.👏🙏💕

Well done @Rachel_deSouza Keep up the good work.
I worry Westminster simply doesn’t pay enough attention to children. Now I have over a million children's voices to take to number 10 off the back of my Big Future survey. Read my op-ed in @politicshome👇🏼 politicshome.com/opinion/art…

My mission has always been to ensure politicians listen to children's voices. That includes keeping children safe online and holding tech firms to account. Great speaking with Ian Murray, Minister for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport today. @DCMS @IanMurrayMP

When I came to Congress in 1987, there were only twelve Democratic women. We made it our mission to change that. Today, we celebrate the election of more than 100 Democratic women to the House — a tremendous joy and source of pride. When women succeed, America succeeds!

In a big step forward, HS2 has now broken through at Old Oak Common, completing a 14km tunnel from West Ruislip. This station will be one of the best-connected rail hubs in the country, bringing together HS2, the Elizabeth Line, Heathrow Express and GWR. After years of mismanagement, we’re finally getting a grip and making progress.

So let me get this straight. Suella (Conservative Home Secretary 2022 - 2023) felt so strongly about the betrayal of the Boris Wave that she stood as a Conservative candidate in 2024 and then sat as a Conservative MP for a further 18 months before jumping ship. Stacks up 🤔
The Boriswave was the greatest betrayal by the last Conservative government. It’s why I left the Conservatives.
Community note
Braverman served as Attorney General under Johnson and Home Secretary 2022-23 amid the immigration surge called the Boriswave. She remained a Conservative until defecting to Reform in Jan 2026 after the 2024 election. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suella_Br… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/

I think probably my all time favourite of Shakespeare’s sonnets. RIP Patrick Stewart. What an amazing, extraordinary actor. And a staunch Labour man who once campaigned for Labour in Eyres Monsell back in the 2004 Leicester South by election!
