It took the police/IOPC over 4 years to sack two officers for tasering a 92 year old care home resident. He died 3 weeks later The two officers presumably remained on full salaries for the 4 years 3 months it took for them to get fired...
Two @sussex_police officers have been sacked for using excessive force on elderly care home resident Donald Burgess, who was PAVA sprayed, struck with a baton and Tasered after threatening staff with a cutlery knife in 2022. Read more: ▶️tiny.cc/ixnb101

A reminder of the "we did nothing wrong" bullshit of the @PFEW_HQ rep Paul Middup. Couple of days later his SYP colleagues fed lies to the Sun too. Always believed the police will lie to deflect from their failings. It's in their DNA. youtu.be/UvUwad8hWz0?is=g8CN…

Today I have written to the head of the UK Football Policing Unit after its disgraceful attempt to link alcohol with the Hillsborough disaster following the Prime Minister’s call to ease restrictions at football matches. Alcohol did not cause Hillsborough. The behaviour of supporters did not cause or contribute to the disaster. These are the authoritative, factual conclusions of the inquests and the independent investigations. They are not matters of opinion. Thirty-seven years on, when will policing authorities finally accept the truth and stop perpetuating the lies and smears created in the aftermath of the disaster? Enough is enough. #JFT97

Absolutely spot on. The head of the UK Football policing unit shows astounding levels of ignorance and prejudice towards ordinary fans. Plenty of us know exactly where attitudes like that can lead.
This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

Since it's inception the RNLI have lost a minimum of 438 crew attempting to saving lives at sea. More depending on how you define that. Every single time a volunteer answers that call they show more courage than any of the armchair warriors shouting at their keyboards.

I understand exactly what's happening - I've seen it before
The front runner being foisted on the people of Holborn by Labour to replace the former Prime Minister Keir Starmer in our Parliament was born in Somalia. Do you understand what’s happening?

Our charity exists to save lives at sea. Our mission is to save every one. Our lifesavers are compelled to help those in need without judgement of how they came to be in the water. They have done so since the RNLI was founded in 1824 and this will always be our ethos.

Dear @FIFAcom - When you're too corrupt for Nigel Farage, you've got problems
Football is for the people. UEFA are right to take a stand and Gianni Infantino must resign.

People died at Hillsborough, at Grenfell, and in the pandemic (including many frontline NHS workers who had inadequate PPE) and yet not one person has served even a single day behind bars for the criminal negligence that led to those tragic deaths.

Wonder why the Tories did nothing to implement a duty of candour for public servants in the 7 years they were in power after Bishop James' report ? Anyone?

Let's get Gove, Johnson and Hancock back in to testify on this again, once the Hillsborough law has been passed

"We cannot take that hurt away tonight, but we can put decency back at the heart of the British state, and that is what this bill does." With the Hillsborough Law set to be approved in the Commons, Andy Burnham says he hopes it "ends the cover-up culture" many have faced in the country.

Just watched @IanByrneMP speak in the debate on the new Hillsborough Law he has pushed for years. You were clearly emotional Ian (nothing wrong with that) - know that every survivor I know thinks the world of you. #JFT97

Same for the postoffice victims, “why are we still fighting” let’s hope people are truly held accountable for their own decisions and actions.
