World leaders have been caught on hot mics mocking Trump for his inane behavior and ignorant comments.
Trump likes to say that we used to be a "laughing stock" on the world stage when he's literally being laughed at on the world's stage.
Trump has gone his whole privileged life pretending to know what he's talking about, only getting away with it because he's either been surrounded by enablers and sycophants, or because correcting him risks incurring a temper tantrum.
It's not just embarrassing for Trump, but embarrassing for our country because our supposed leader is so naive that he doesn't realize he's being treated like a child.
It's always been the case that Donald Trump is the greatest risk to our country's national security, global standing and influence, strategic soft power, credibility, alliances, and status as a world superpower.
Global sentiment on Trump is profoundly negative.
Pew Research Center's spring 2026 survey of 42,151 people across 36 countries confirmed that a median of just 23% of adults across those nations express confidence in his leadership on world affairs.
Confidence in Trump is lower than confidence in Macron, Zelenskyy, Xi Jinping, or Putin. Only Netanyahu polls worse among the leaders Pew asked about.
It's the same story domestically too.
The world has soured on Trump and the opinion is that he is an unreliable leader.
His support has only trended downward over his second term. Largely tied to tariffs, foreign wars, global trade instability, and broader doubts about US trustworthiness as a partner.
And worse even, Trump's war in Iran has exposed our vulnerabilities to China, which Xi Jinping will no doubt use as leverage in any negotiations.
Trump's war has also hardened the Russia-China-Iran axis into a more formidable and better coordinated alliance.
Both Russia and China have made strategic gains during this war and Trump has done nothing to address it because he's focusing all of our strategic resources on a failed forever war in the Strait of Hormuz, which were now fighting to open even though it was accessible before the war.
