Retired Army Infantry officer • Guadalupe County, TX • Husband & dad • Local government, schools, taxes, growth

I’m a husband to an awesome wife and dad to two amazing kids. White. Male. I believe in God. Retired after 20 years as an Infantry officer. Disabled veteran — back, hips, heart, lungs, joints, and more. There are two sexes. Girls’ sports and spaces stay girls’. Period. America is the best nation on earth. College-educated twice. Philosophy undergrad. Master’s in organizational leadership and design. I’ve struggled with mental health and am better because of that struggle. Wasn’t easy. I’m a lifelong learner. I’ll challenge you because I love to learn with you. I drink black coffee. Nothing added. That’s who I am.

We need to have a serious conversation about overweight people flying on commercial airlines. I’m flying on @AmericanAir and after paying extra money to upgrade my seat, I got stuck next to a man who is 300+ pounds and stripped mid flight. None of the flight attendants wanted to confront him. He smells like 💩 and weed. He’s literally sitting in my seat and keeps touching me. For context, he’s literally 300+ pounds and I’m 120. Why does American Airlines think it’s acceptable to treat people this way?! I tried reaching out discreetly during the flight, but they have no avenues to do that.

Ya know I’ve never heard of a Christian hijacking an airliner, yelling “Praise Jesus” as they try to kill everyone on board. Islam is a threat. Treat as such.

Eighty years ago today, the Nuremburg Trial verdicts were announced. After 9 months, 12 defendants were sentenced to death, 3 to life imprisonment, 4 to long term imprisonment, and 3 found not guilty. (1946)

Last 90 days I put family first. In that time, two Texas House offices asked me to be their Legislative Director. I am honored, truly, but declined. Austin owns November through June — hearings on band night, drafts on holidays, and time off the back end of life. I already gave the Army that calendar. The hardest thing to do is uphold a priority. That is why it is a priority. I am not running to be a celebrity. I am staying home to represent about 200 families for real — classrooms, taxes, local control — and to have them pay that forward. Access is useful. Presence is the point.

Milton Friedman’s point still holds: there is no free lunch. Government cannot spend taxpayer treasure without shifting the risk and cost onto the rest of the economy. TEF’s $537 million in net payments to a few selected firms, after years of weak job-verification, leaves small businesses paying the taxes and competing against subsidized rivals they never received. Over-taxation plus poor oversight does not strengthen Texas enterprise—it tilts the field and raises costs for everyone left out. Broad tax relief would serve far more businesses than another round of “deal-closing grants.”
(🧵1/8) Texas awards cash grants to selected companies through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF). How much has actually been paid? Who approves the deals? And do performance requirements settle the corporate welfare debate? Follow the money. texaspolicyresearch.com/texa…

Chances for widespread rainfall which could lead to flash flooding increase mid to late week, particularly during the Wed night to Friday morning timeframe, as a slow moving cold front moves across the area. Monitor the forecast this week & have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Honored to spend Friday night at the Guardians Gala with Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham. The evening raised more than $300,000 to help families keep their land, give veterans a place to heal, and support children rescued from exploitation. That’s Texas at its best — neighbors taking care of land, of those who served, and of kids who need protection. Grateful for the conversation and for everyone who invested in this work.

The comparison isn’t perfect — layoffs and visa issuances are different metrics — but the scale is still the story. Over 700,000 tech jobs cut. Nearly 671,000 H-1Bs issued to Indian nationals over the same period. In 2024 and 2025 the two lines sit almost on top of each other. You can argue about causality. You cannot argue the pipeline kept running while Americans were being shown the door.
706,457 tech workers laid off since 2022. 670,693 H-1B visas issued to Indian nationals in the same period. The pipeline never slowed down- even as Americans lost their jobs by the hundreds of thousands and were permanently displaced.

Facts matter. I would also bet he'd been voting in elections too.
This illegal alien entered the country using the CBP 1 App in 2024 which was basically a perverted way for illegals to enter a southern port of entry in order to NOT show the chaos of millions of border crossers on the southern border during the Biden Regime. approx. 904,500 invaders used this program. He then applied for asylum within the year in order to gain the system and apply for a federal work authorization ID card for $450 dollars. He would then be issued a drivers license and social security card in Texas and can begin working for Uber Eats or Doordash. Wilber then skipped his asylum hearing and didn't care about his "due process". (during the Biden Admin over 2.9 million asylum applications were filed in total.) The DOJ judge ordered a final removal order in absentia (no appearance because 92% of these type of application are fraudulent.) There are over 1.4 million invaders in our country with final removal orders. ICE targets these foreigners and works to arrest and deport this category of illegals every day in America.

We have a fundamental flaw in our educational system when statements like this are being made. Genuinely. Follow the money I suspect…
I thought the tweet below must be omitting some critical context or paraphrasing the text ungenerously. But no, the NYT actually published an op-ed that claims the University of California hasn't sacrificed excellence even though it admits students who struggle with basic math.

The @TexasTDI memo is full of process talk—“plans to propose a rule,” “could create a template,” “could explore enhancing,” “companies should offer”—instead of clear directives. That is not the same as doing the work. Growing the agency (or government) is not the fix. TDI already has the statutory power to disapprove rates that are excessive or not actuarially supported. Yet it has not formally denied a single private-insurer rate increase since 2017 across more than 23,500 filings. With premiums rising sharply in that period, zero denials is not credible oversight. We expect the department to use the tools it already has…not talk process. @brianeharrison recommend some questions be asked of TDI.
TDI Commissioner Amanda Crawford outlined potential agency reforms in response to @GregAbbott_TX's August directive intended to put downward pressure on insurance policy rates: tdi.texas.gov/reports/docume… #txlege
