The state set her execution for Wednesday, Sept. 30. Method: lethal injection at Riverbend prison in Nashville. Gov. Bill Lee said he will not stop it. Her lawyers asked the U.S. Supreme Court for a stay. In 1995 she was 18. She and her boyfriend were convicted of torturing and killing Colleen Slemmer, 19. They were classmates at Knoxville Job Corps. Pike got the death sentence in 1996. She has not denied the killing.
