At the risk of stating the obvious, America was ready. Kamala Harris being a controversial hire herself just wasn't. She wrote it herself. Pete would've been perfect… if she were a straight white man. Too risky. Shapiro got the extra Israel interrogation and then the "chemistry" excuse. Then they put Tim Walz on the ticket and lost. 😬 Trump nominated Scott Bessent to Treasury. Gay. Confirmed 68–29. Fifth in line. Highest ranking LGBT official in US history. No parade. No lecture. Probably the smartest man in the administration TBH. They don't mean "ready for a gay president." They mean ready for their gay guy. Bessent doesn't perform it the way they like, so he doesn't count. That's the whole thing.

Unlike Democrats who couldn’t even put Buttigieg on the ticket because he’s gay, the vast majority of Republicans couldn’t care less about Bessent’s sexuality. Why? Because it’s the Dems who make identity the central aspect of their political calculations. As a result, they couldn’t judge Buttigieg on his merits, only if his membership in his identity group helped them to gain power.

Scott Bessent is the first Secretary of the Treasury who actually puts AMERICA first 🙌🏼 That's LITERALLY all I have to know about the Big Gay Patton of the Financial health of the USA. As far as I'm concerned, Scott Bessent should be given the American Freedom Medal for what he's accomplished so far
