So, I’m pretty alarmed by this. Call me dramatic, but if I knew that my doctor went missing for 92 days and froze in the middle of talking to me for an uncomfortable number of seconds, I would have questions about him and his ability to provide services to me. I get it, Mitch McConnell isn’t a doctor….. But he does hold war powers, has votes on confirmations, and is on a number of important committees. How is it acceptable for him to look like a zombie? This isn’t OK. We already had a questionable president whose staff took some pretty significant liberties with the autopen. I think that members over 75 should have to pass a cognitive assessment to ensure they are fit for duty. If they can still do the job, prove it. If they can’t, step aside. Stop making the country play Weekend at Bernie’s with confirmation votes and a $7 trillion budget.
