🤑 Ba Na Hills, Da Nang Budget Hack! 🤑 Thinking about visiting the Golden Bridge in Vietnam? Staying at the Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills — actually unlocks hidden savings: 💰 The Cable Car Discount: Standard day-tripper tickets cost 1,000,000 VND. But if you buy your tickets directly from the Mercure front desk at the bottom of the mountain, the price drops to around 600,000–665,000 VND! That’s nearly 40% off per person. Another offer from Sun world (limited time): 🚌 Free Transit: You can skip private taxis! Take advantage of the free Sun World shuttle bus pilot running directly from central Da Nang straight to the mountain base.

For me, my "Apartment Lift Indicator" is a great proxy for what's looming on the horizon. When I see hyper-targeted ads for high-risk assets on one wall and leveraged multi-crore payment schemes on the other, it proves market is peaking — and holding liquid safe money is more critical than ever.
The future has always been uncertain. Even the relative certainty we once had is undergoing huge disruption because of deglobalisation, geopolitical conflicts, AI, shrinking employment opportunities, and so on. As I keep repeating, ensure you have not less than three years of lifestyle expenses as safe money. Completely avoid any long term commitment in real estate for now. Buying a house on EMI can wait a few years until better clarity emerges about the future. Investing in stocks or mutual funds should be done only after you have this safe money. Humanity has always found a way out of challenges. So this too shall pass. Until the current scenario lasts, safe money provides peace of mind, confidence for the family, and most importantly the room to prepare for a newer set of opportunities.

No matter how old I get, watching planes take off and land never loses its thrill. Still hits like it did when I was a kid. Absolutely dope. 🛫🛬 Drop your best plane spotting photos below!

Reading Man's Search for Meaning pulled me back to World War II. Earlier this year, I visited Hiroshima — a city wiped out by a nuclear bomb. The A-Bomb Dome stood closest to the center of the explosion and somehow remained partially standing. 🤔 What struck me most: the Japanese rebuilt a city flattened by a nuclear bomb into a world-class city in a remarkably short span of time. 🫡 But why Hiroshima was bombed, and not bigger cities such Kyoto or Tokyo?
Halfway through Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. Reading it hits differently since I've been to Sachsenhausen, the concentration camp near Berlin — years ago, but I can still visualize it.

Was relieved to see business-class style seating in this lounge. The guy next to me is watching Aaj Tak on full volume. 😳 Moments like these are why stereotypes sticks.

On one side of the riverbank, the evening aarti in full flow — on the other, the last rites per Hindu tradition. Two fires. One lit to welcome, the other to say goodbye. Watching both happen side by side, you start questioning everything you spend your life chasing — the ambition, the wealth, the titles.

A massive reminder to keep your online transactions toggled OFF on your banking app when you are not using them. I just swiped my credit card at a physical POS terminal, and minutes later, someone attempted a fraudulent online purchase. Thankfully, having online transactions disabled saved me from getting scammed. Stay vigilant, everyone.

My offer is a ₹5K voucher on ₹4.8L spend. Pretty poor offer, honestly — if I had that kind of spend lined up, I'd rather put it on M4B instead.

Landed in Luang Prabang in a downpour, on a propeller plane that looked like it belonged in a museum. Slowest, most unbothered town I have been to. Full thread coming — floating gas stations, snake wine, Buddha temples and of course Mekong.

Started this trip anxious. Ended it wishing I'd booked more days. Taiwan doesn't get talked about enough — go before everyone else catches on. T10/10 Can you guess the airlines?

Dihua Street — Taipei's oldest trading street, still lined with shops selling dried goods, herbs, and fabric the way it has for over a century. Quieter and less touristy than Jiufen, but just as much character. The kind of place you wander without a plan and it still works. T9/10

Temples with incense smoke thick enough to see, locals mid-prayer, zero performative tourist energy. Didn't take many photos here, mostly just sat and watched. Some places are better experienced than documented. T8/10

Shifen — old rail line runs straight through the town, people walk the tracks between trains and release sky lanterns right on them. Also has a genuinely underrated waterfall a short walk away. T7/10

Jiufen old street — narrow lanes, red lanterns, tea houses stacked into the hillside. Very "Spirited Away," and yes everyone says that, but it's said for a reason. Go early or go late — midday crowds are real. T6/10

Beitou's Thermal Valley — a literal steaming, sulfuric hot spring lake in the middle of the city. Water's hot enough that you can't touch it. Felt like walking past something that shouldn't exist so casually inside city limits. T5/10

Yehliu Geopark — miles of coastline shaped by wind and sea into formations that look almost designed. The famous one is the "Queen's Head," eroding a little more each year, so there's genuinely a shot it won't look like this in a decade. T4/10

Wasn't planning to stop, but Ximending had street acts. First one — a marionette violinist that drew a proper crowd in minutes. Second, a full street dance crew, completely different energy, just as good. Taiwan takes street performance seriously — this wasn't background noise, people were actually watching. T3/10

First stop, obviously — Taipei 101. Went up expecting "tall building, nice view," came out more impressed by the tuned mass damper they've turned into an exhibit — a skyscraper that shows how it survives earthquakes and typhoons. Also did the night trek up Elephant Mountain for the skyline view. Brutal climb, humid as hell — but that first glimpse of 101 lit up against the night skyline made every step worth it. T2/10
