BREAKING from New York reg Mohan Bhagwat's event:
Two prominent New York faith leaders who appeared along RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat have publicly said that organizers did not tell them about the Bhagwat-RSS connection to the MSG event. Both have now publicly repudiated their participation.
Rev. Adriene Thorne, Senior Minister of the historic Riverside Church, says she was pursued through 10 emails over roughly six weeks for a “One World, One Humanity” interfaith gathering. She says she was not told that Bhagwat would be the central figure at the MSG event, about the RSS connection, or about AHEAD, which organized the event. She calls her appearance a “terrible mistake” and says she would never have participated had she known.
Imam Shamsi Ali, a prominent NYC Muslim and interfaith leader, said Bawa Jain and Dileepji Kumar invited him to the event too but never disclosed in their meetings or official invitation that Bhagwat would be the central guest.
Ali attended the gathering at The Pierre, an NYC hotel, but said that once he learned its true nature, he refused to continue to MSG.
