Andy Burnham wants to return our water system to the filth and degradation of the 1970s. He doesn't even seem to know about the disgusting quality of rivers in Manchester in his favourite decade. In 1971 a Manchester Evening News editorial said: “At least we ought to make the rivers clean enough so that if you fall in it will be safe enough to open your mouth to shout for help.” The picture below was taken in 1974 of the River Mersey, which runs through Manchester. "The discharges of sewage and trade effluents to the river and its tributaries upstream from this point are calculated as being very little less than 300 million gallons per day," noted the Labour MP for Manchester Gorton, Kenneth Marks, at the time. 1/3

Why do these "SUTR" nonces always turn off replies?
Young Bob runs away from two London women today. He's been calling himself "Big Bob the Basher" but ran like a coward from some local women, though not before assaulting one of them. Another spineless Restore activist with big words on the Internet and nothing to back it up.

A prime minister who doesn't understand economics. But socialists never do. If you introduce a price control on seat allocations, the airlines will simply marginally increase everyone's base fare to compensate. Socialists are just 🤡
You know that feeling when you book a flight for 50 quid and somehow it ends up costing 100? Getting seats together, correcting a typo, another charge here and there, it all adds up. When the cost of living is already squeezing people, those endless extras can feel relentless. So we're changing the rules for you. Parents won't need to pay a penny extra just to sit next to their own children. You'll be able to fix any name errors on your booking free of charge. And because the last thing you want once you're on the plane is more stress, we're working with the industry to make sure that disruptive passengers who have been banned from one airline can be banned from flying with other airlines too. I know holidays are expensive and these are small things, but hopefully they'll make your trip just that little bit cheaper and easier. That's exactly the kind of thing I want this government to keep on fixing.

Pretty funny. @Jacob_Rees_Mogg thinks Russia has a smaller economy than Britain. It is almost twice the size. It is hard to convey how delusional many people in London are… 🇬🇧

Hodges embodies everything wrong with journalism today: narrative over news, opinion over objectivity, spite over substance. He's entitled to hate Reform, he isn't entitled to mock grief & deride what's now emerged as a real threat to Farage's life. Unkind, unprofessional & ugly.
"All the ‘journalists’ and MPs who attack him for accepting a gift to fund his security should hang their heads in shame". There we go. The most blatant example yet of Reform's attempts to use the death of Ann Widdecombe to try and deflect from legitimate scrutiny of Farage.

Dear Andy, you do know this is untrue, don’t you? Highest energy bills in the world are due to: * Reckless pursuit of net zero * Blowing up our coal-fired power stations * Failing to exploit our own fossil fuels * Insane dependency on foreign oil and gas. The phrase “over a barrel” springs to mind * Paying Norway £20 billion plus a year for oil and gas we could get out of our own North Sea * Subsidizing renewables to the tune of billions by slapping green taxes on bills * Putting an eco-cult and leftist ideology before the comfort and warmth of the British people * Allowing good jobs to be lost in pursuit of all of the above * Claiming your government wants to “reindustrialise” while creating conditions no manufacturer could succeed in * Closing refineries and gas storage so the UK is uniquely vulnerable this winter and likely to have serious power cuts. You’re welcome. @andyburnham
I want to be honest about how we’ve got to a place where British billpayers are paying some of the highest energy costs in Europe. Over the past 40 years, we’ve given up control of our necessities, outsourced our essentials and privatised the basics. Water, transport, housing. And of course, energy. Now the public are paying the price. We haven’t invested in the infrastructure we need. Conflict overseas has pushed up energy costs and it’s hurting our businesses and families. That’s why we need to take back greater control of our energy system. This week, I announced Great British Grid, which will speed up connections and push down bills. We’re also giving mayors, local leaders and communities a stronger role. With funding for People’s Power projects, communities will be able to build solar panels on libraries and town halls, hydro schemes in rivers or publicly owned windfarms on local land. But it’s not just energy we need stronger public control over. It’s also water, housing, transport and care. So we’re repealing the ban on public ownership of water companies. We’re building more council homes than this country has seen since the end of World War Two. We’re reforming the leasehold system so families aren’t squeezed for every penny. And we’re opening up home ownership for first time buyers who can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad. This week I also announced my determination to introduce a National Care Service, to put people above profit and to give pensioners peace of mind. Together, we’ll rewire the country from top to bottom so that it works for all people in all places. That is the only way to put Britain back on the right path. It’s the only way to put power back in people’s hands. And it’s the only way we will bring hope again.

He put £10,000 in the bank. Next day he asked for it back. 24 hour notice needed they said. Call the Business Centre first they said. They would not even say if his cash was in the building. He left with nothing. This is NOT how solvent countries act. It is your money until you want it. Then it is theirs. Bitcoin is how you opt out!

What’s disgusting? Laughing? Laughing at the absurdity and utter cruelty of the left? Laughing at someone invoking his father’s tragic death for political point-scoring? Laughing at the sheer audacity of using the incredibly sad loss of a loved one to justify policies that could harm millions of pensioners? Dark humour is a long-held British tradition, a way of making sense of tragedy, absurdity, arrogance and political destruction. Laughter is one of the most powerful and instinctive human reactions we have. It kills fear, defuses aggression and punctures ideology. So yes, I will laugh. I’ll laugh when I want, how I want and at whatever I want, because laughter is infinitely better than hatred, rage or fear. Your attempted pile-on failed, but in doing so it exposed everything I detest about progressive politics. Both Mike and I have lost close family members to the same disease. That neither diminishes our right to respond as we choose, nor gives you, Dan, or anyone else ideologically opposed to us the right to sit in judgement over how we do so. Your X post was quoted in a threat made against me and my family this afternoon. You are not responsible for that threat — but if I applied the same standard of responsibility that you appear to apply to others, you certainly would be.

Mr. Burnham, you're actually being completely dishonest in blaming privatization for the UK's high energy costs. The nationalized energy companies were run extremely inefficiently before they were privatized in 1989. Privatization liberated them and enabled huge quantities of new investment. Over the period 1989/90 to 1994/95 the reduction in electricity prices in real terms was 10.0% for residential customers, 11.3 % for small industrial customers, 17.0% for medium industrial customers, 16.5 % for moderately large industrial customers, and 6.7% for extra large industrial customers. Privatization revealed how grossly inefficient the state electricity companies actually were. Post-privatization reductions in staffing levels were achieved of more than 50% in the case of the generators and over 25% in the case of the distribution companies. The efficiency improvements enabled huge increases in investment in new power plant and other fixed assets, including new facilities to reduce the environmental impact of emissions. Of course you want to revert to incompetent union-controlled state ownership, ignoring the real reasons for high energy costs which can be found in your own government's energy policy. But please stop lying.

Yes, the claims come from a whistleblower interview published 17 Aug 2026 on jaoc.org.uk. The site says it verified a serving Manchester Airport Border Control officer with 21 years' experience. He alleges 3-4 weekly night flights of 200-300 people via the Aether private terminal, transponders off, Home Office processing only, and unmarked buses. Aether is a real, publicly bookable VIP terminal with dedicated Border Force for paying passengers. No flight data, tracking records, photos, manifests or official confirmation supports the secret migrant scale or methods. Claims remain unverified.

If this is accurate it is absolutely outrageous
The Labour government is lying to you. A border officer at Manchester Airport says there is a corner of the airfield he can see and is banned from entering. Flights in between 2am and 4am. Three or four a week. Transponders off. Special call sign. Cleared to land. Not screened by Border Force. Met by Home Office staff. Onto unmarked buses. Out a side gate. 200 to 300 people a flight, from the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. That is not a leak. That is the government flying people in while telling you the border is under control. Illegal immigrants, delivered by the same people who swore they would stop the boats. They are not failing. They are doing it. And they are lying to the British people about it.

Yes the EU economy is knackered Any negotiation to join would take years It would likely be vetoed because the bloc is turning right Especially true as Reform and the Tories would be anti meaning there would be no political consensus within Britain Yes we would need to join Schengen and commit to the Euro though not join immediately Yes we would need to cancel all our trade deals Yes we would lose all our gene editing and AI companies as they would leave due to EU regulation No it wouldn't change GDP levels Yes we would need to pay at least £35 billion a year though probably more by then Yes that's equal to about 4.5p on income tax No join wouldn't win any referendum We can not talk about something else as the EU debate is irrelevant
