One of the incredible experiences in Israel was walking through Hezekiah’s Tunnel beneath the City of David. The tunnel is connected with King Hezekiah’s preparations for the Assyrian threat against Jerusalem. Scripture records that Hezekiah redirected the city’s water supply so the invading army would not have easy access to it. Standing inside a place associated with events described in Scripture is a powerful reminder that the Bible is rooted in real geography, real kings, real cities, and real history. Archaeology does not replace faith, and our faith does not rest on artifacts. Our faith rests in the living God who has revealed Himself through His Word and ultimately through Jesus Christ. “This same Hezekiah also stopped the water outlet of Upper Gihon, and brought the water by tunnel to the west side of the City of David.” 2 Chronicles 32:30 #HezekiahsTunnel #Jerusalem #Israel #BiblicalArchaeology #BibleHistory
