Josh Cosden built refineries at Bigheart and West Tulsa, and by his late thirties he was worth around fifty million dollars. In 1918 he raised Tulsa’s very first skyscraper, the Cosden Building, which still stands downtown today as the Mid Continent Tower. He kept racehorses and a yacht and once hosted the future king of England. Then he lost it all, made a second fortune in Texas, and lost that one too, dying on a train in 1940. ...the way he made and lost fortunes reminds me somewhat of the late Aubrey K. McClendon...

I'm not telling people to trust the government when I talk about trusting Trump & his administration. People seem to forget that Trump is not a politician. He's going against the system. That's why the corrupt politicians & Mockingbird Media have been going after him for a decade. Trump is not controlled. He is up against a world wide network & beating them at their own game. CHRISTIANS - I genuinely struggle to understand this argument: “This world is not my home, so I stay out of politics.” You may spend eternity with God. But before then, you could spend 70, 80, maybe 90 years HERE. Your children will live here. Your grandchildren will live here. And during those decades, human beings will still write the laws under which your family lives. They will decide what your children are taught. They will determine taxation, criminal law, religious liberty, war, education, borders, family policy and countless other matters affecting everyday life. So how did Christians arrive at the conclusion that being “not of this world” requires abandoning responsibility within this world? America itself offers an extraordinary historical contrast. The founding generation operated in a society saturated with Christian belief and biblical language - although the founders differed considerably in denomination, theology and personal religious conviction. Today, Pew finds that 62% of American adults still identify as Christian. Yet millions of Americans - including millions who identify as Christians - still do not participate in every election. That matters. Because government does not disappear when Christians stay home. Someone else simply makes the decisions. Voting is not worship. A politician is not your Savior. A political party is not the Kingdom of God. And Christians should NEVER confuse the three. But none of that requires political surrender. Joseph served inside government. Daniel served under kings. Esther intervened politically to protect her people. Paul invoked his rights as a Roman citizen. Christianity has never required believers to become spectators while society is shaped around them. You can preach the Gospel AND vote. You can pray AND participate. You can prepare for eternity AND take responsibility for the country your children will inherit. And Christians should examine another uncomfortable possibility: Sometimes what gets presented as spiritual wisdom can become an excuse for civic passivity. Test every doctrine against Scripture. Test every politician against their record. Test every claim against the facts. Then make your own decision. But SHOW UP. Because while Heaven may be your eternal home, your children still have to wake up and live HERE tomorrow. 🇺🇸✝️

Over on FB, I just posted an incredibly insightful graphic comparison showing why gas and diesel don't come down as fast as the price of crude. It isn't what most people think. Total global oil production since 1970 is up 113%. (And U.S. production has nearly tripled since 2008.) Yet the total number of US refineries in 2026 is 130, down from 319 in 1980. During that time, demand for gasoline has increased significantly because our population grew by an additional 100 million people. You can pump all the crude oil you want, but if you can’t convert it into gasoline and diesel, it doesn’t matter, at least not for gas prices. Why did this happen? Because blue states closed refineries to move toward stupid "Net Zero" and "Green New Deal" goals. And Democrat Presidents from Carter to Biden imposed restrictions on refinery construction so draconian that no one could afford to build...if they could even get a permit. But sure, blame Trump, the first President to actually do something about it. Instead, elect the people who TOLD YOU they wanted to "ban fossil fuels" and push the price of gas over $10/gal., and then relentlessly implemented policies to get us as far in that direction as they could.

Two years ago, millions of Americans were praying for President Trump to defeat Kamala Harris. He did - and despite the nonstop noise, he has already delivered major wins. No, the country isn’t fully repaired. Nobody fixes decades of damage overnight. But surrendering to political defeatism while attacking the man doing the fighting helps nobody. And let’s be honest: conservatives cannot complain about RINOs while ignoring the elections that put them on the ballot. Bad candidates survive because good voters arrive too late. They skip the primaries, ignore local party positions and leave the organizing to somebody else - then become furious when November presents them with terrible choices. Washington is shaped long before Election Day. Candidates are identified, financed and supported while most voters aren’t paying attention. If you want better Republicans, fight in the primaries. If you want to stop Democrats, show up in the midterms. President Trump cannot rebuild America by himself. Trust his leadership, stay involved and bring others into the fight. A movement that only complains after losing isn’t a movement. It’s an excuse.

His name is the Word. His name is Son of God. His name is Son of Man. His name is Lamb of God. His name is the great I AM. His name is Alpha and Omega. His name is Wonderful. Counsellor. Mighty God. Everlasting Father. Prince of Peace. You want power? It’s not in your plans. You want peace? It’s not in your circumstances. You want salvation? It’s not in your effort. It’s in the name. Say it out loud right now. JESUS. Let your walls hear it. Let your demons hear it. Let your children hear it. The name before time began. The name after everything burns. The name that will be on every tongue willingly or unwillingly — when He returns. JESUS. Drop His name in the replies. One word. Flood this post with the only name that saves. JESUS.

The Bible is not a book detached from history. It is rooted in real places, real rulers, real cities, and real events. These 10 archaeological discoveries provide some of the strongest external evidence that the biblical authors were describing the world as it actually was.

Listening to a sermon this weekend, I learned that the Jewish Talmud (Sanhedrin 41a) records that 40 years before the destruction of the Jewish Temple in 70 AD, the Sanhedrin officially lost the legal authority to carry out capital punishment. Forty years before 70 AD is 30 AD… most likely the year Jesus died. This wasn't a coincidence, it was divine providence setting the stage for the cross. If Jesus had been arrested just a year earlier, the Jewish leaders would have executed Him the way they wanted to... by stoning, because stoning was their method of capital punishment. But stoning wouldn't have fulfilled all the OT Scriptures prophesying His crucifixion, and it would’ve made Jesus a liar because He foretold His own crucifixion, too. God used the shifting political landscape of the Roman Empire and the Jewish courts to ensure that when the time came, the Jewish leaders were legally powerless to kill Jesus their way. They had to hand Him over to the Romans. They had to use the cross. When Pilate told them to judge Jesus themselves, they had to admit the frustrating truth that it was not lawful for them to put anyone to death (John 18:31). And John records the reason for this in the next verse: "This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to show by what kind of death he was to die." The Jews thought they were just using Roman law to get rid of a troublemaker... they didn't realize they were unwittingly fulfilling the exact specifications of God's redemptive plan. Not a single detail was left to chance. God was orchestrating the salvation of the world, down to the very method of execution. For my sin, and for yours. It honestly blows my mind when we get to see these little glimpses of how perfectly God's sovereignty works (seemingly) behind the scenes of human history.
