25 years ago I watched the second plane hit the south tower of the World Trade Center. After directly witnessing the horror of the terrorist attacks and then the myopic and counter-productive response of the Global War on terror, I'm more convinced than ever that commitment to human rights law is the best way forward for the US and for the world.
