For the ninth consecutive year, Kennedy-Powell STEM Academy has been recognized as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School. The PLTW Distinguished School recognition honors schools committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in their PLTW programs. Kennedy-Powell is one of a select number of elementary schools across the U.S. to receive this honor for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities for students through PLTW Launch, an elementary STEM curriculum. To qualify, Kennedy-Powell needed at least 75 percent of the student body participating in at least one PLTW Launch module and had to offer at least one PLTW Launch module in each grade K-5 during the 2024-2025 school year. Many of those students completed four modules and are learning critical thinking and problem-solving lessons they will carry with them throughout their academic and professional careers. The students engage in hands-on learning and project-based activities across the campus, not just in Kennedy-Powell’s STEM Lab.
