DRDO has signed its first high-value deep-tech project agreement under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme with Zero mK India Pvt Ltd for indigenous development of a 20 mK-class Dilution Refrigerator for Quantum Applications. The project, supported by the Rs 500 crore deep-tech corpus approved by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, will strengthen India’s capabilities in quantum technology and advanced cryogenics, reduce dependence on imported infrastructure and contribute to a self-reliant, quantum-ready ecosystem. The Naval Weapons & Missile Technology Course (NW&MTC) - 66 commenced at #MILIT, Pune, with 30 officers - 17 from the #IndianNavy and 13 from six Friendly Foreign Countries. The Indian Air Force is hosting the second edition of Exercise Tarang Shakti at Air Force Station Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from 26 September to 12 October 2026. A major multinational air exercise, it brings together 7 Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) participating with air assets and 32 nations attending as observers. The exercise focuses on realistic multinational operations, joint aerial missions, tactical training, interoperability and sharing of operational experience and best practices across complex mission sets. Defence Correspondents’ Course (DCC) 2026 commenced at Visakhapatnam with the six-day Navy Module, with 24 journalists participating. Rear Admiral Manoj Jha, CSO (Ops), Eastern Naval Command, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the importance of the media–military interface. The module will familiarise media professionals with the #IndianNavy’s organisation, operational activities and maritime security responsibilities through lectures, interactions, visits to naval establishments, ships & submarines, and a sea sortie.
