Today I've been back to see Bonnie for her third puppy training session. Puppies can be very hard work but putting in the work & setting them off on the right track when they're young will reap rewards throughout their lifetime.

#rehomehour BDRUK are in need of a foster or adoption for partially sighted Brittany Spaniel RUBY TUESDAY. She was born in 2021, weighs 12.5kg & is originally from a rescue in Portgual. Ruby has been in #Sussex with her owners since 2022. She lost her sight recently & suddenly due to SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) - a medical condition that causes blindness in dogs when the retina stops processing light. She has become totally blind in her left eye & partially sighted in her right eye. The transient lifestyle of her owners means that Ruby struggles with orientation & is frequently startled by dogs & people & bumps into things. Hence Rescue are looking for a new home for Ruby, one that is well suited to her new needs. Can you provide a calm, confident, permanent or foster home who will be sensitive to the fact that Ruby is adjusting to her sight loss? She needs someone home mostly & for it to be a rural or quiet home away from hustle & bustle noises. A calm family dog would help her but not necessarily needed, she just needs time to adjust & initially it will be necessary to separate the dogs just while Ruby settles. Ruby's personality is amazing, she is a happy, confident, intelligent, well socialised, versatile dog. She has always been very well behaved & is very lovable. She is fully vaccinated & has a pet passport.
To read & see more of Ruby, or apply to offer her a permanent home, please click on her link: bdruk.org/animals-needing-ho…
To offer Ruby a foster home, email foster@bdruk.org #rescuedogsrock #TeamZay

6 year old Buddy's had severe anxiety & fly catching syndrome. Vet & neurologist think it's behavioural
By the end of our session, he was sleeping soundly in the lounge - something he's not done since July. Early days but hopefully he can start to feel more like his old self now

Today I visited Bailey the cockalier who is a very chilled girl until there is the slightest noise or the TV is turned on.
Learned behaviour can take time and consistency to change but we saw some improvement today amd hopefully her family can continue that now.

Today I was back working with Ghost whose owner is blind & wanted me to observe how he feels when he is working to ensure he isn't stressed or overwhelmed.
Ghost did a great job & got a free run on our way back. Then there were treats for his furbro Hans the Springer too

Today I have been working with Bonnie the lab who is a very good girl, she just needs to learn some doggy etiquette so Eriskay will be helping with that in a few weeks time.
