Today, validators working on @Polkadot's cores check that parachain blocks follow their rules, keep that data available for 24 hours, and take part in consensus.
To use a core, though, you have to be a parachain.
JAM opens that up. Any code built for its virtual machine will be able to rent time on a core directly: smart contracts, agents, media serving, regular software.
Parachains keep running as one kind of service among many.
Same cores, open to anyone who needs compute. That's what the cloud did for servers.

Is @Polkadot coming back?
One of the biggest players in the market 5 years ago, but now its TVL is only around $100M. $DOT has spent years fixing its supply problem
Since March, @Polkadot has cut annual $DOT issuance by around 54%, from roughly 120M to ~55M tokens per year
Supply is now capped at 2.1B $DOT, issuance will keep stepping down every 2 years, and around 51% of supply is currently staked
But the challenge for them is giving people a reason to actually need the token, and lower inflation doesn’t guarantee demand. This is why JAM showed up
Polkadot is moving away from being mainly a parachain network toward a more general compute layer where different services can buy network resources through Coretime
And the important part for holders: JAM won’t have a separate token
$DOT stays the native asset and is still used for network resources, staking and governance
JAM is also moving beyond the whitepaper stage now, with production preparation and parachain finality being migrated toward JAM services
So the $DOT thesis is starting to look different
Less issuance helps the supply side
JAM could help the demand side if developers actually start paying for compute and Coretime
That “if” is still doing a lot of work though
Polkadot has had plenty of capacity before without enough demand to monetize it
So I wouldn’t buy $DOT just because inflation got cut
I’d watch whether JAM can finally turn Polkadot’s infrastructure into something people are willing to pay for

Polkadot is getting one step closer to JAM serving as its underlying protocol infrastructure.
A lot is changing and the work includes:
• simplifying the Relay Chain
• moving to a new protocol that delivers messages entirely off-chain
• adding an in-browser light-node library for applications to access JAM directly and verifiably
As the JAM implementation moves toward production, the @Polkadot community will have a say on what happens next.

Why we're building machine.fun
A lot of how machine.fun works comes from what CodecFlow went through. They didn't have a VC network or any real path to raising money, so instead of waiting around they launched a token, put a lot of thought into its utility, and used the trading fees to keep going while they built in public.
Today, they're signing their first clients and generating their first revenue.
We think there are a lot of teams out there in that same spot. Really technical people building products, who just don't know the right people or come from the right background to get VC money.
For hardware and robotics it's even harder right now. Crypto VC has pulled back a lot. Hardware was never an easy bet for investors in the first place, it's slow and expensive and harder to judge than software. And private rounds bring their own problems with vesting, unlocks, and everyone waiting for liquidity.
At the same time some of the biggest hardware companies started with almost nothing. Unitree started with a student building a walking robot. There's probably someone at that stage right now and we'd like to help them get further.
That's why we built machine.fun, with the support of @codecopenflow and @peaq.
It's an experiment, a different way for these builders to get going: launch earlier, build in public, and let the market support you while you show what you're making.

At 18:31 UTC on September 24, 2026, Bitget's security systems detected unauthorized transfers from some of our hot wallets. Our security team activated emergency response protocols immediately.
What we have confirmed:
-Estimated funds affected: approximately $351.6 million
-Cold wallets remain fully secure. Bitget operates a three-tier wallet architecture — the breach contained only a portion of the hot wallet and warm wallet layers.
-User funds are safe. The full amount of this loss falls within the coverage of Bitget's User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million
Actions we have taken:
-Emergency response team activated within minutes of detection
-Abnormal transfer addresses identified, flagged, and reported
-Withdrawals temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, pending security review
-Law enforcement and on-chain security firms have been formally notified and are engaged
What this means for you:
-Your account balances are accurate and your assets are protected
-Deposits and trading remain fully operational
Withdrawals are temporarily paused and will be restored as soon as the security review is complete
-What comes next: We will provide updates on an hourly basis across this channel and all official platforms. A full incident report — including root cause analysis and corrective actions — will be published within 24 hours. We will not speculate on the attack vector until the investigation is complete.
