USDT and Bitcoin have been showing up together more and more lately, and this latest move makes that connection even more interesting. Tether’s USDT is set to return to Bitcoin through Utexo, with plans for private transfers, direct BTC to USDT swaps and Bitcoin backed lending. This could bring stablecoin liquidity closer to Bitcoin’s native ecosystem instead of keeping everything around wrapped assets and separate chains. And this is where @utexocom gets interesting. Utexo is one of the projects building around the Bitcoin native stablecoin narrative, connecting USDT, BTC, swaps, lending and yield in one ecosystem. If Bitcoin is becoming more than just a store of value, having native dollar liquidity on Bitcoin could be a very important piece of the puzzle. 👀 USDT + BTC is definitely a narrative worth watching

Web3 is also a game of speed. - The faster Ethereum can propagate blocks across its nodes, the more time validators have to receive and process information. But the current gossip model still creates duplicated data and is not always efficient with bandwidth. - @get_optimum is using RLNC to rethink how blockchain data moves. Instead of sending individual pieces of data separately, the network can send encoded and combined packets, allowing nodes to recover the information even when some data is missing. - Early mainnet results showed ~2.4x faster block propagation and around 8x better consistency in delivery time. - No new blockchain. No consensus changes. Just a faster and more efficient way to move data across Ethereum. Optimum is building the highway for blockchain data.

Bitcoin is becoming more than just a store of value. With Tether bringing USDT to Bitcoin through RGB, stablecoins can move natively on Bitcoin while Lightning can provide the fast transfer layer. RGB keeps asset data off chain while anchoring commitments to Bitcoin. And this is where Utexo gets interesting. @utexocom is building the wallet and payment infrastructure around RGB, with its RGB wallet and RGB Lightning modules now integrated into Tether’s WDK. Introduce RBG State Transitions RGB State Transition can be understood simply as how RGB transfers asset ownership from one person to another while using Bitcoin to secure the integrity of the process. Alice owns an RGB asset linked to a Bitcoin UTXO. When she wants to transfer part of that asset to Bob, Bob provides information about his UTXO. Alice creates a new state where ownership is assigned to Bob’s UTXO in a concealed form. Alice then creates a Bitcoin witness transaction and commits the new state using Opret or Tapret. She also sends Bob a Consignment containing the data he needs to independently verify the entire RGB transaction history. Bob can validate the State Transition, verify the seals, and ensure that the data has been correctly committed to Bitcoin. Once the witness transaction is confirmed, the State Transition is complete and ownership of the asset moves to Bob. What makes RGB interesting is that multiple State Transitions can be grouped into a Transition Bundle and committed to Bitcoin through an MPC Tree. This allows RGB to scale without putting the entire asset data on chain. RGB keeps most of the data client side, while Bitcoin acts as the commitment layer and provides double spend protection. @utexocom

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, recently shared that USDT is coming to Bitcoin, and I think this could open a very interesting new chapter for Bitcoin. Bringing a dollar stablecoin directly onto Bitcoin could create more real world use cases and bring much more activity to the network. RGB provides the foundation for native assets on Bitcoin, while Lightning can make transactions much faster and more practical. This is where Utexo becomes interesting. @utexocom is building infrastructure that connects stablecoins, Bitcoin and payment rails, making it easier for businesses, wallets and applications to actually use USDT across the Bitcoin ecosystem. If Tether is bringing the dollar back to Bitcoin, Utexo could play an important role in building the infrastructure that makes this vision practical. The combination of BTC, USDT, RGB and Lightning could create a very interesting new direction for Bitcoin

A quick recap from the interview with Muriel Médard, MIT Professor and co inventor of RLNC, on a key difference between TradFi and DeFi. In TradFi, latency optimization is relatively straightforward. Put your server close to the exchange, use colocation or a direct fiber connection, and you can get fast and predictable performance. DeFi is a completely different problem. There is no central location to connect to. Nodes are distributed around the world, and you cannot always predict how data will travel across the network. With traditional gossip like GossipSub, this can lead to more bandwidth usage, higher latency and unstable performance as the network grows. This is where Optimum takes a different approach with Random Linear Network Coding. Instead of repeatedly sending the original packets, data is mixed into coded combinations. The receiver only needs enough independent combinations to reconstruct the original data. Less retransmission. Less wasted bandwidth. More resilience to packet loss. Lower tail latency. The result is a network where even validators far from the center can compete on latency while keeping the decentralized nature of the network. That is the interesting part to me: Optimum is not trying to make DeFi faster by making it more centralized. It is trying to make decentralized networks perform more like optimized financial networks, without giving up decentralization. @get_optimum
