Protecting children online starts with putting their rights first. At the launch of the #BeACyberHero campaign at @nextmediaug , @PlanUganda joined stakeholders in highlighting the urgent need to strengthen child online protection as children increasingly use digital spaces for learning, connection and opportunity. The discussion emphasised the importance of protecting children’s privacy, dignity and rights, including ensuring appropriate consent and safeguarding when their images, stories and videos are used by schools and institutions. It also reinforced the need for parents, schools and communities to equip children with the knowledge and confidence to recognise online risks and safely report concerns.
