I'm playing Theodora's path right now & it is SUCH a tone shift from Cai's path. Any review that didn't include a playthrough of her path should be thrown out completely. Even just the opening chapter is fantastic. Intelligent Systems snuck in a cool African inspired origin story without saying a word lol

Trust me, Cai's path is VERY good (I think that's who Nintendo wants you to start with). I finished it recently. It's just a different vibe which is a good contrast to Theo.

I did Theodara as my 1st & now I moved on to Dietrich's Path. I feel like My team was low-key scuffed for her tho at the end I might redo her part to fix up her team.

The Leda path is kind of insane especially the end of the heroic games, she's so bloodthirsty the whole time it's way different than Cai.

Theo's squad is pretty great. Bona is a pretty wonderful mage and Tobias oneshots everyone with improved combat arts.

I agree that Theo route is great but the first chapter had me head-in-hands dreading the writing quality for the rest of the game. very happy that it improved from there. Dyan is an awful character

I played Theodora first and then Dietrich’s and just started Cai’s. I HIGHLY recommend Dietrich’s. It was an absolute blast to play through. Easily one of my favorite fire emblem characters of all time.

I've always seen grifters online hate on stuff but this game made one person I know show their true colors on racism. Imagine this being your fav nintendo franchise and skipping out cause the cast is diverse. I was so shocked man.

Ive not done cai's yet but I can tell he is the true protagonist of the 4 started a Dietrich and while he is hilariously psychopathic he is endearing in his honesty and innocence toward normal human interaction and Fabio his standout support often steals the show. Leda may actually be more if not the most brutal of them all.

She ended up being my first full route sort of by accident, but I’m so happy it worked out that way. I would be surprised if any of the other lords top her. That said, I wish Dyan wasn’t so cartoonishly evil. Thought they were gonna do more with that and they played it straight.
