My first post-college roommates were chaotic, so I looked for one person, neat or quiet. My neat roommate was compulsively clean: - dusted and vacuumed morning and evening, then wiped down the vacuum - After opening his junk mail, he would stack six pages together, fold them in half, and staple two corners before throwing them away. I could have handled that, but he also folded my dirty laundry (in a basket in my closet). That was a bit much. Quiet had to be better, didn't it?

On 26 September, 1580, Francis Drake completed his circumnavigation of the earth. There may have been some piracy and looting along the way. Western culture needs to return to celebrating the courage, resourcefulness and raw talent that lead to world-changing accomplishments.

Going for my favorite bad movie break - Hudson Hawk (1991). Rotten Tomatoes gives it one star⭐️, 23%. Real people like it more. The actors (especially Bruce Willis and Andie MacDowell) do an amazing job with a marginal script, delivering the best bad entertainment around.

Henry McCarty aka William H. Bonney or Billy the Kid (or Billy the Lawman?) escaped jail on Sept. 25, 1875, 151 years ago. Three years later, he was deputized into a posse to help arrest a group of murderers. The situation got complex, legally and otherwise, but ... smart hire. The Kid had to be a top pick in the frontier equivalent of Fantasy Football. 🎵With a notch on his pistol for twenty-one men🎶 - Marty Robbins (1959). Fun. Not true. piped.video/rPXH6W91MUg

Elon Musk, former trillionaire, is going to get himself demonitized. Then what will he do for pizza money? He's recycling his old content with only minor additions. Elon, if lost cash flow hits you too hard, let us know. We'll set up a GoFundMe.

When I talked to Gates in person, he said “experts tell me a long range electric semi truck is impossible”. However, when I asked what his assumptions were about battery energy density and vehicle energy consumption per mile, which are the two numbers needed to determine range, he did not know either number! I also offered to let him take one of our semi trucks for independent testing, but he declined. Not sure what more I could have done. 🤷‍♂️

I'm a journalist too - on X - yet I was denied access. Should I cry as long and as loudly as CNN does? Or are we ready to admit that the First Amendment protects against censorship, rather than granting blanket access to every room in every building in the USA.
The White House has denied two CNN journalists from covering Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s arrival back at the White House for a state dinner, after trying to tell the network which type of journalists could cover the event. cnn.it/4hnIIJR

Lindsay Clancy - hard to move on when the story keeps getting worse. Defense appears to be targeting the Holdout Juror. The other side says sympathetic jurors used cell phones during deliberations, browsing & posting on social media. Will our jury system survive a post-trial bloodbath?

"Under a federal judge’s order, the administration restored White House access to journalists from MS NOW, CNN and Politico ..." Does this mean I can demand a White House press pass too, for my X account ... or are some animals more equal than others?

A federal judge (District Judge Robert Pitman) just ordered Texas to install air conditioning in all prisons where temperatures rise above 100° F. I grew up with those temperatures and no AC. I adapted. Over 100,000 homes in TX still lack AC - more than the number of prisoners without AC. It's hard for me to see criminals living in conditions matching those of poor people as "cruel and unusual".

Something has changed in American society, where it is now treated as normal and acceptable in a large subset of the population to threaten others over political disagreements. How can we get back on track, or has that train left the station?
Hey @FBI, this person appears to be threatening an ass*ssination against President Trump

Without borders, we do not have a country. Allow all comers in, and our economy will collapse. The USA is successful because of our culture, not because the dirt here is special. Unless we get serious about reversing illegal immigration, everyone loses.
The biggest reason why I’m voting Republican by Tuesday, November 3rd, is because I know that if democrats ever regain power, they will allow millions of illegal aliens into the United States…again. With the 2030 Census approaching, we can’t afford that risk.

Lindsey and Patrick Clancy's love didn't end quickly. Lindsay spent 25 minutes systematically ending the lives of their three children after weeks of planning. Callan (8-months) lingered for four days in the hospital, because of Lindsay's actions. I've been through family crises. Both steps took a long time.
Sara Haines questions Patrick Clancy about Lindsey: “How did the marital love end so quickly… in sickness and in health.” nitter.net/NJBeisner/status/21024… Gee I don't know, maybe because she brutally murdered his children? And he is never going to hold them, see them ever again? Let's imagine that the roles were reversed, these women would be livid and definitely not have the same energy to defend a man

I went with quiet for my next roommate. No music at all, no TV, no noise except his soft voice. We both shoot well, so we had something in common. Bad call. He talked to his favorite target pistol more than he talked to me: - "They aren't listening to us" - "They don't understand us." The soft voice, conversations that did not include another person, made it hard to sleep. And that's how I decided I was done with roommates.

The poor and minorities are usually hardest hit by crime. Going soft on criminals harms decent, hard-working Americans the most, and many of those hurt are the "black and brown students" that Talarico pretends to care about. Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent, that and racist.
🚨UNEARTHED Texas Democrat James Talarico says police officers in schools "only adversely impacts" "black and brown students." What does he mean by that?

I had years of free headliner tickets and always picked the cleanest act in the room. Eight years ago today Bill Cosby was sentenced to prison. The conviction was later thrown out, but the gap between America’s Dad and the man did not get smaller.

I played Missile Command back in 1980, got pretty good. Now, lasers using a modified Xbox controller are taking down incoming drones and missiles to defend US interests. This is today, in the Strait of Hormuz: What games are likely to come to life next?

Is it too much to ask that governments serve our interests? Another 781 migrants arrived in the UK on Wednesday, 18,565 for the year. This is a burden on housing, food, and social services, and government could do a whole lot more to ensure that no one enters without being screened and approved. Why not require that immigrants make the country better both overall and for working citizens?
