Christa Pike is scheduled to be executed in Tennessee on September 30.
She has spent roughly 30 years on death row for the absolutely horrific 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Christa what is 18 when she did this.
And when I say horrific, I really mean HORRIFIC!!! Colleen Slemmer was tortured and beaten before she was killed, and she carved a pentagram in her chest with her codefendant and actually kept a piece of her skull as a souvenir. 😳
Now Christa is 50 years old and facing execution more than three decades later. Her attorneys are asking Tennessee’s governor for clemency, pointing to her age at the time, her extraordinarily abusive childhood and mental-health history.
So I’m curious:
Do YOU think Christa Pike should still be executed?!?
Or after more than 30 years in prison, should her sentence be commuted to life?
I have a feeling people are going to be VERY divided on this one!! 😬
