BYU went 11-2 last year. Stumbled a little down the stretch but bounced back incredibly well from a 5-7 first year in the Big 12. BYU had high expectations, projected to be a top 15 team entering the preseason but lost their quarterback in August and turned to a true freshman at QB who joined the team in May. Way too much was put into the loss of Jake Retzlaff at QB by people outside of BYU. Bear has certainly exceeded expectations and is a big reason they are 10-1 but the biggest reason is because BYU has a GREAT TEAM. Balanced, efficient, well-coached. The obsession from the committee on blowing horrible teams out and losing close games to good teams is asinine. BYU has played a lot of really good teams this season. I would contend it is more impressive to go 10-1 against BYU’s schedule than 9-2 against Notre Dame’s. Losing to the two best teams on your schedule shouldn’t be rewarded. BYU went 1-1 against the two best teams they played. The Tech loss was bad but why does Alabama get a pass for a loss to Florida State but BYU doesn’t for losing to the No. 5 team in the country? Oregon gets credit for wins over Penn State and Iowa because we thought they were good at the time. BYU gets knocked because of close wins to Arizona and Iowa State because people thought they weren’t great. BYU has a top 5 resume in the country. Sure they aren’t a top 10 power rated team but let’s reward teams that over perform, not teams that under perform because of “eye test” and Vegas and power ratings. Assuming BYU beats UCF, BYU is a playoff worthy team regardless of what happens in Arlington and it is ridiculous that isn’t a given.

QOTD: Which Big 12 game are you most interested in watching this weekend with BYU Football on a bye week?

Two things... 1) They will use this to cram as many SEC teams into the playoff because they will tell you playing 6-6 Missouri is actually tougher than playing 10-2 Houston or 10-2 Virginia because "SEC" 2) It's objectively hilarious Notre Dame is on this graphic regarding "conference strength." Weak schedule, no conference, and yet still get a protected top 12 spot in the playoff. Notre Dame should be plenty good enough against its schedule to not need a special rule.

Walley and LB Akeem Davis-Gaither are the biggest coverage issues right now (8 targets/8 recs for 87 yards). A.J. Haulcy having issues too. As for Sauce, yall gotta lay off him. He's only been targeted 5 times in 78 coverage snaps. He's not the problem.

But the backups gave up garbage time touchdowns... BYU is IMO considerably better this year than last year. Look the part of a legit top 10 team.

BYU is the most talented team I’ve seen CSU play in person since 2017 Alabama. That size & speed just looks different live & in person. That team is really damn good. (I didn’t attend the Michigan or Texas games).

This BYU team is really talented They’re the best team in the Big 12 LJ Martin is a DUDE The offensive line is outstanding, even without the starting right guard The defense is long, athletic, physical & can run Legend Glasker is a star It’s hard to find a real weakness on this roster Bear Bachmeier wasn’t perfect tonight, but he gives this entire team confidence I think this is the year Sitake is in the CFP & will compete

Ole Miss should be ranked No. 1 tomorrow. Beat LSU and Louisville. Nobody has better wins than that
