Gears of War: E-Day is another big case where we can say with confidence that the Western AAA gaming industry has changed tactics.
Instead of celebrating and rubbing the whole DEI agenda in our faces, they're now trying to hide it in absolutely ALL of the game's promotional material, giving the impression that it will be a politically neutral title.
Halo: Campaign Evolved was like this, Saros was like this, and Marvel's Wolverine was like this for most of its marketing campaign too.
Even though Gears of War: E-Day hasn't launched yet, I can already see it will be the same, and I'll go further: GTA 6, The Witcher 4, and many other titles from the Western AAA industry will be like this from now on.
It's their new strategy for putting DEI in games while not losing sales.
How do we fight it? Well, it's actually very simple: don't preorder games. Wait until you have as much information as possible about a title before deciding to buy it.
I know that isn't easy for many people, especially when you're dying to play something you've been waiting on for a long time, but it's the safest way to fight this today.
I've been really busy the past few days, which is why I've been missing from X.
But I'll try my best to keep up with Gears of War: E-Day. I'm not sure if I'll play it on day one, because I don't have Game Pass and I don't want to install that awful Windows Game Bar and Xbox app just for this, and I absolutely don't want to pay full price for this game on Steam.
That's it. Vote with your wallets, today and always.
