If not for the Obidient movement, there would be no place for the voiceless of the society. If not for the Obidient movement, there would be no voice for the silent majority in this country. The Obidient movement gave voice to the helpless, hopeless, and frustrated Nigerians. My greatest shoutout goes to the Obidients who are in the APC, those who are frustrated but can’t speak because they have to keep earning the peanuts they get, and those who are in the police force and the military. We know how bad you want things to change, but you can’t do anything about it for obvious reasons. Continue to be yourself, but don’t lose yourself trying to be on the side of the oppressors. Continue to let your conscience guide you; we will all smile again when we get back our country.

At 32 I was editing Papa Ajasco and Super Story, trying to become a director. One night officers who had been drinking shot me through my car. I am 47 now. The hand is dead. I edit with my left hand for $10 and $20 so my children can eat. I won in court. The police have ignored the judgment since 2015. The officer’s name is in their own report. Ayuba Philip ID 257745. Please tag em until @TunjiDisu1 & @CspIniedu see this impunity. Thank you punchng.com/drunken-policema…

“I heard one pastor talking nønsense, saying Nigeria has a calling to prayers. Which kind of calling is that? Are we prayer warriors? We have a calling to be developers. Bad government is what has caused all these churches across the country. They want to deceive the youths so that everyone will turn to pastors. Nigerian youths, let’s come out, f!ght for ourselves and take back our government.” — Pastor Odumeje reacts to Pastor Arome’s statement that Nigeria has a calling to prayers.

MADE IN ABA: Governor Alex Otti did not need a speech. He pulled off his shoe and said, “This is Aba Made.” The shoe looked imported. The sole said “Aba Naija Made.” That is the whole point. For years, “Aba-made” meant cheap. Otti wants it to mean quality you can wear without explaining yourself. The moment fits what his government has already started. He has promised a Made-in-Aba campaign, more support for fashion hubs in Aba, and full funding so Enyimba Automated Shoe Company can produce at scale. Aba already knows how to make shoes. What it has needed is buyers who are not ashamed to wear them, starting with the governor. A policy can announce support. A shoe on his foot proves it. The rest is power, roads, packaging, and a market willing to buy local. And so far, they journey is on course. Buy #MadeInAba today to grow the Naira. #InvestInAbia

"China did not wait for manufacturers to start buying equipment... the authorities started building factories." — Economist Paul Alaje calls for a turnkey approach to industrialisation, arguing that state-backed factories and large-scale housing projects are crucial to spurring jobs, boosting manufacturing, and lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

Among the candidates in this governorship race, I am bringing a proven track record, practical experience and private sector competence into public service. I have built businesses, created value, managed people and delivered results. That experience is what I am bringing into politics to serve the people of Delta State. — Deacon Chris Iyovwaye,

Nigeria’s security agencies are failing in their responsibilities, @PoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG as some politicians continue to publicly threaten violence ahead of 2027 elections, in utter disregard for the rule of law and the nation’s Electoral Act. The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe, was quoted threatening “to invoke the “power of AK-47” against anyone plotting to thwart the party’s plan to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.” Tenebe made the threat during a campaign rally in Edo state where political violence is already rampant. Clearly, Jarret Tenebe is a danger to democracy and rule of law and must be held to account. Ahead of 2027 elections and beyond, it is essential that the Nigerian authorities ensure that any politician or other leaders, of any political party or grouping, responsible for carrying out or inciting or threatening politically, religiously or ethnically-motivated violence or human rights abuses must be held to account.
